Someone phoned me up, calling me by name even though my number is ex-directory. They claimed to be from a company checking up on my life insurance for my provider. But when I asked which insurer they worked for, they refused to say. After I told them I wouldn’t talk about my policy to a stranger on an unexpected call, they just hung up on me.

I got this call when I was at work. I told the bloke to ring me later, but he asked if I was taking the mick. Then he started threatening to come round and punch me, saying he knew my address. I just hung up on him straight away.

I reckon these callers are from up north, probably somewhere around Macclesfield. They keep ringing from different numbers asking about car crashes or something like that. Such a pain so I've just blocked all of them now.
