This person called claiming they needed me to turn on my computer to do a small update. They refused to share the security check password and kept insisting it was a simple problem I could fix on my own. Eventually, they said they'd call back later, so I had time to look up the number and see if it was dodgy. Their pushy manner made me really suspicious right away.

This bloke with an Indian accent called saying he was from tech support, but I knew it was a load of rubbish. I told him off and hung up straight away.
