What a total con! It really winds me up knowing that someone who’s more gullible might fall for this rubbish. I kept probing with questions and their story just started falling apart bit by bit. In the end, they just wished me good luck - probably hoping the fake cops show up to take me in for being daft enough to listen that long!

Just like everyone else here, I rang back and the bloke who left the voicemail picked up again, same accent too. But then he acted like he wasn’t James Anderson and said he was trying to find this James. After that, he repeated the message from before and asked for my solicitor’s info. I told him surely HMRC would send an official letter in these cases and that I’ve never dodged any taxes. Then he just cut me off! Is there any way to block this person or get them stopped?

I received a call at 10 in the morning on October 5th, 2018, from a chap with what sounded like an Indian accent. He claimed I had to make a payment urgently to prevent being summoned over unpaid taxes. Quite clearly a scam!

Got a ring from this number and when I called them back, they just said they’d phone me again later. Next day, they rang and were going on about tax fraud and urged me to get in touch straight away. The bloke said his name was James Anderson. Lucky I didn’t bother calling back, reported it right away to HMRC.

I've had a similar experience. I checked HMRC's official site and rang their genuine line, 0300 200 3300, to double-check, and they told me my account was fine and that they would contact me in writing first. I’m planning to report this to them properly.

Got a call from 01622 371086, some bloke called James Henderson - or maybe Anderson, couldn’t hear properly cos the signal was rubbish - claiming to be from HMRC. They told me to ring back on a number that was almost the same. Didn’t bother replying, seemed dodgy to me. HMRC’s always mailing stuff anyway, so if they needed me, they’d just send a letter properly!

Received a couple of dodgy phone calls today from this number, claiming to be from HMRC. The bloke on the line went on about some tax fraud associated with my name, insisting that I was on the brink of a court appearance. To top it off, he even left a voicemail, introducing himself as James Anderson from HMRC, and urged me to return his call. It all seemed a bit fishy, to say the least!

Got a voicemail saying I’m being taken to court for tax evasion and that I shouldn’t ignore it. The caller claimed to be some tax consultant named James Anderson and told me to ring 01622371086. I phoned that number twice but it just went straight to a busy tone after a couple rings. Then, an hour later, the recorded message showed up again. Honestly, it’s so frustrating how these con artists keep pestering ordinary folks like me. Wish there was a way to put an end to this nonsense.
