Got a recorded message from a woman calling herself Jennifer Coleman at hrsc. She was warning me about some serious stuff if I didn’t respond. The weird part was she finished off by saying have a “blessed” day. The number she wanted me to ring back was the exact same one she called from.

For a few months I kept getting calls from this number and finally picked up once I heard them say they were from HMRC. I quickly hung up. The following morning, I found a voicemail from an automated message claiming to be HMRC too, saying I had to ring back urgently or I'd face a fine and it was a legal offence not to call them. I’d dealt with something similar last year and knew it was a scam, so I didn’t bother answering any more calls from this number. Months went by with no messages, then this time when I picked up, the next day I got a recorded message on my answerphone again. Just ignore it and block if you can, it’s just annoying pest callers. They keep ringing non-stop, which is a nightmare for me since I do night shifts and need my sleep. Big thanks to everyone spreading the word about these rubbish calls!

My elderly mum got a call about some tax evasion and was told to call back - but when she did, it turned out the number was for my brother. They actually knew his name and started threatening him with court. Quite scary, really.

The moment I picked up the phone, an automated voice came on warning me about some urgent legal action against me, saying I had to ring back without delay or face serious trouble. It wasn’t until the very last part of the message that the caller claimed to be Jennifer Coleman from HMRC. A quick search shows this Jennifer character has been relentlessly phoning loads of people from all kinds of numbers using this same intimidating scam.

Over the past few days, I got two calls from this same number. It was some robot voice telling me to call back because apparently I’m being taken to court for tax issues. The first call went to my wife and she was proper shaken by it. Then I got one too and, honestly, I felt quite panicked at first. The guy said his name was Christopher Kacey, employee number 1756214. He sounded real enough but was really aggressive and frightening, made me nearly believe it until I thought about it properly - no way HMRC sorts out big cases like that with just a day’s notice. They also left a message telling me to ring back straight away, which naturally makes you panic and call them. Don’t give any details out and expect them to get rude if you don’t fall for their act straight away.
