I've fallen victim to a rather nefarious scam! The culprits had my Virgin Media details spot on, which raises some serious questions about how they managed to get that information-surely Virgin must be involved somehow. They even spun a tale about checking my broadband speed and promised me a refund, but before I knew it, they had filched some cash from my account! It's a right shambles!

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT’s tech support. Sounded really polite and well-mannered, said there was a problem with my internet connection being hacked. She went on about IP addresses and errors for a bit, but I ended the call pretty quickly. Classic scam stuff. Normally I’d mess around with them to waste their time, but wasn’t in the mood today. This morning at precisely 9:10, I received a rather dubious call on my landline. The caller, a woman with a distinctly foreign accent, informed me that there was a security issue concerning my internet. I confidently replied that my online protection was more than adequate and didn't require her meddling. Undeterred, she insisted that it was irrelevant and that a security breach had occurred. I told her that was utter rubbish and asked if she had any moral awareness, given the early hour - surely there are regulations about such practices and laws regarding data protection! At that point, her tone turned quite hostile, and she abruptly disconnected the line. It’s plainly a SCAM. Do be cautious! I suspect her next move would have been to attempt remote access to my computer or to request credit card information under the guise of resolving these so-called issues.

Just had a cheeky call moments ago from the same lot trying their old tricks again. They were pretending to be from Virgin Media, banging on about some so-called technical problems with my internet. It’s all a ruse to get you to install dodgy software on your computer. I had a run-in with these scoundrels last year and nearly had them fooled into thinking I was about to download something. When I started asking questions, they just kept ringing me back, getting increasingly hostile and pushing me to follow their dubious instructions. A proper nasty crew, I tell you. So today, when they rang again, I cut to the chase and asked what they wanted, and they promptly hung up. Ridiculous!

I had a rather peculiar phone call the other day, purportedly from Virgin Media, claiming that my Internet speed had been dwindling recently. I found it quite odd since I've been away on holiday, rendering my Internet usage nonexistent. I mentioned to them that if I encountered any issues, I would reach out to Virgin directly. At that point, they promptly ended the call. To clarify the situation, I placed a call to Virgin Media and they assured me that there was no record of any faults nor had anyone from their team attempted to contact me. This number is definitely confirmed as NOT associated with Virgin Media.

Got a call that sounded dodgy at first, it just ended with a robotic "bye" when I picked up the first time. Then a bit later, some bloke with an Indian accent rang again saying my internet wasn't secure or something. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

This number rang me but I didn’t pick up, just let it go to voicemail and there was no message.

Received a call from someone purporting to be from TalkTalk, asking for my personal details to supposedly enhance my broadband speed. The catch? I'm not even a TalkTalk customer! They had absolutely no clue who I was, and after keeping them on the line for a good ten minutes, they were quite irate when it finally dawned on them that I was onto their little charade. It's astonishing how brazen some people can be!

For a whole week, my phone kept buzzing non-stop and then suddenly went silent. I finally got myself a Panasonic phone that has this amazing call blocking feature. Now, it’s so peaceful and I only get calls from mates and family. Honestly, think everyone should pick one up!

Got a call from someone saying they're with TalkTalk about my internet, but I’ve never even signed up with them. Total scam, no doubt!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from Virgin Media. She told me my account was apparently being accessed in 15 different countries at once. When she asked if I'd noticed any signal issues, I said no, which seemed to throw her off. Then she wanted to know what my primary device was, assuming it must be a computer. She spoke quite aggressively. I decided to end the call. After that, the same number rang about five more times back to back, but I ignored them all.

Got a call from the same person again but with a new number, looks like one of those sneaky internet scams from India. I just blocked it like I did with all the others.

I got a call on my home phone from a guy speaking in an Indian accent, saying he was from my internet company. He wanted me to install some app to supposedly improve my internet speed. I refused and ended the call since he couldn't verify my info. Then he rang me four more times in a row, so I just unplugged the phone to stop it.

Got a call from someone with a strong Asian accent saying they were from BT. They mentioned there were issues with my internet. Sounded like the typical scam so I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was from BT Openreach and that my internet got hacked. He offered to fix it, but when I asked for my BT ID, he just messed about and refused to give it unless I paid him first. Total scam alert. These sorts should seriously be locked up.

Looks like a dodgy internet scam from what others are saying. My call just went straight to voicemail, and they didn’t even leave a message.

I got a call from a woman speaking with an Indian accent, telling me that my Virgin Media was at risk of being hacked and that she could help fix it. She didn’t ask for any details about my account or myself though. I’m pretty sure this was some kind of scam, maybe hackers trying to trick me. Watch out for this sort of call!

Got a call from someone saying they were Virgin Media about an issue with my broadband. This was the second call I got about the same thing within 5 minutes. When I asked them to verify my address, they got quite rude, saying I was confusing the security team with customer service. I kept pressing for info only Virgin could provide, and suddenly they just disconnected. Definitely a scam, don’t bother picking up if you get a call like this.

I received a call from 01622292398, an Indian woman on the line. It felt like a right scam. Don't you reckon the big telecom firms, with all their cutting-edge tech, ought to be able to track these callers down and take serious action against them?

I received a call this morning from a lady who appeared to be part of a call centre. Her accent had a noticeable Indian lilt, and she claimed to represent Virgin's tech division. She mentioned that my router was at risk. She inquired whether any lights were flashing on it and proceeded to provide a list of steps I should take. However, I opted not to follow her instructions. After the call, I verified the number and discovered it was 01622292398.

It's a shame that English isn't their native tongue; the whole thing reeks of a scam. I've just ended the call and would recommend that everyone else do the same.

I found myself in a similar situation. The person had a thick accent, and honestly, it’s quite embarrassing for them. I managed to keep my cool, but I have to admit, I felt like letting out a few choice words!
