This number has called me twice this afternoon. The second time, a supposedly genuine bloke cut off a recorded message halfway through, saying he was "Tom from your neighbourhood energy advisors" and was ringing back about loft insulation supposedly installed with a Government scheme. I told him I had no idea what he meant and asked how he got my details since I never contacted them. Then he just dropped the call. Totally dodgy!

My landline rang earlier and when I picked up, I kept quiet. The bloke launched into some spiel about an energy saving scheme or something, but I wasn’t really paying attention. Then he asked if I was the person who lived there. I didn’t respond at all, just stayed silent, and after a few "hello?"s, he just hung up. If you say ‘yes’ to these types of questions and they turn out to be scammers, they could have a voice recording of you agreeing and might try to use it to steal your info. Even if he wasn't a scammer, I really don’t want any unexpected calls like that.

01622 is the Maidstone area, where Energy Helpline is based, so chances are it’s them ringing. From what I’ve seen, they’re one of the worst for cold calling about energy deals and refuse to remove your number from their auto dial lists even if you tell them repeatedly. A few years ago they kept calling my work line nonstop and I eventually had to get a new number just to stop it.

Received a call on my landline today (17th June) but there was no reply-just that particularly frustrating silent call that drives me up the wall. I do wish BT or OfCom would take it upon themselves to hunt down these nuisances and bring them to justice, especially now that there are laws against such bothersome calls. I suspect this might be a robocall, although it sounds rather genuine. The voice and script are identical to a previous call I received from a different number. It seems to be related to loft insulation and appears to be part of some sort of energy scam. A neighbour of mine reported a similar experience and claimed it was indeed a bot. If you engage with it, a 'real' individual eventually reaches out to hawk energy-related goods. The automated voice does mention the "postcode area," yet it falls short when trying to specify your actual postcode!

Today, on the 17th of June, 2021, I received a call from this number around half past two. When I picked up, there was silence before they disconnected. From what I've seen in the other remarks, it seems to be the same caller I encountered a couple of days back. They introduced themselves as part of an energy company and inquired whether I owned the property. Upon telling them I didn’t, they simply responded with a hasty “alright, thank you, goodbye”. Quite peculiar, wouldn’t you say?
