Had a guy named Corey from Insurance Octopus ring me about liability insurance. He said they had my info from 2021 but didn’t call sooner because of Covid, and wanted to check if my insurance was still due for renewal so he could offer a quote. Problem is, I’d already sorted a policy way cheaper than what they’d probably give. Even though he lost the sale, Corey was really polite and thanked me for taking the call.

It was about business insurance. They called because my husband had told them to "call back next year" to get a quote (which was his polite way of saying no thanks). I took the call and was explaining to Laura that we weren’t interested when she just hung up on me. I phoned back and got through to Michelle, nicely asked her to take us off their list, and she said sorry for how Laura acted. I’m curious if Laura will try again - if she does, I won’t be nearly as polite!

Just had a call from what I've since realised is a telemarketer posing as an insurance broker. They start off with their sales pitch, and before you know it, they’re trying to palm you off to some so-called specialist claiming they’ve got an unbeatable offer for you. Quite deceptive, really, as they act as if they're your actual provider unless you query them directly. This particular time, it was Octopus Energy. Bit dodgy if you ask me.
