Equity release feels like a con to me, just a sneaky loan trick to rob you of your house. They hit you with massive fees for insurance every year, plus costly surveyors and lawyers, so you’re stuck paying for upkeep and insurance on a place that, in reality, isn’t yours anymore. It’s a right rip-off, kinda like those PFI deals which should be banned, just another crooked bank scam. The salespeople come across all calm and polite but keep jabbering non-stop until you hang up. Pure high-pressure sales nonsense.
