Phone number ☎️ 01618509216 👆 is reported as a persistent scam involving automated and direct calls falsely claiming to be from HMRC, threatening legal action, arrests, or court appearances due to alleged unpaid taxes. Callers often demand payment via unconventional methods, such as iTunes cards, and may attempt to extract personal information like National Insurance numbers. These calls typically occur at unusual times and use number spoofing to mimic official HMRC contacts. Genuine HMRC communications are always via official letters, never automated calls demanding immediate payment or pressuring recipients to engage. Recipients are strongly advised not to provide any information, not to press any buttons, and to report such incidents to the authorities. The scam is particularly distressing to older or vulnerable individuals and considered a serious fraud risk.

9 yearsI received a rather alarming call claiming to be from HMRC, warning me about impending court action. They mentioned that I couldn't settle the fine online and hinted that the police were on their way. Oddly enough, they suggested using iTunes gift cards for payment. I found that rather suspicious and hung up. After that, I got three more calls, and one even came from the legit HMRC number, 03002003310. I suspect they have the capability to mask their actual caller ID.HMRC9 yearsThese lot phoned my mum saying they were from HMRC and that she needed to pay up some owed cash. It really freaked her out, poor thing. She even ended up telling them her National Insurance number! I’m really unsure about what steps she should take now.HM Revenue and CustomsNational Insurance9 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be HMRC threatening me with court if I didn’t pay a fine. They said I couldn’t pay online like usual and had to use iTunes gift cards, saying the police were on their way and all that. I just hung up. What happened to that?HMRCBT9 yearsThese lot phoned up my elderly aunt, claiming she owes money and threatening to send her to jail if she doesn’t pay up. It’s really scary stuff. I just hope they end up behind bars instead.9 yearsReceived a dodgy call from some automated system claiming that HMRC is suing me and that I should get in touch with my case officer.
