Got a robo call saying it was HMRC saying I had some case against me and to press 1 to talk to my case officer. When I did, some guy with an Indian accent picked up and asked why I called. I told him, and then he started asking for personal info to check who I was. I asked how I could be sure he was actually from HMRC. Then he threatened that the police would be turning up at my house! As if they think we’re that gullible!

BEWARE, this is a total scam! HMRC won’t ever call you asking for cash like that. They send letters if you have any debts. Make sure you report it to the police’s online fraud department so they can track these scammers down. You can also go on the GOV.UK website, search for PHISHING up top, and fill out their form to let HMRC know what’s happening. We’ve got to put a stop to these fraudsters!

A bloke called "Peter Wilson" answered, sounded like he had an accent from abroad. He said he knew my postcode and then asked for my National Insurance number.
