This phone number is definitely connected to a Talk Talk scam. The person on the line said my name and seemed to know I was with Talk Talk. They claimed to be from Talk Talk doing a survey about the service, but as soon as the conversation turned to money, I realised it was dodgy and hung up straight away. When I checked the number 01618506733, it came up linked to an HMRC scam. Looks like they’ve switched to pretending to be from Talk Talk now. Just a heads up, Talk Talk doesn’t randomly call you out of the blue to ask about your internet in a survey 🛜.

01618506733 kept ringing me yesterday with some recorded HMRC threat about a lawsuit. I pressed 1 to speak to a person and a woman answered, sounded like she had an Asian accent, claiming to be from HMRC. I wasn’t having any of it and cut her off quickly. Honestly, why do these numbers keep getting allowed to operate instead of being blocked completely?

Just got yet another weekly nuisance call from this number at 1360pm on 12th December. It was a pre-recorded message claiming that "HM Revenue is taking legal action against you!" These pesky callers really need to be put in their place.

This morning, after finishing my night shift, I finally got around to checking my voicemail. To my surprise, there were two messages urging me to ring a specific number to avoid a court summons. At first, it gave me quite a fright as I couldn't quite make out the details. However, after some thought, I've come to realise it’s just a scam of some sort. Quite the relief!

I received a call from this number as well, where a woman claimed to be Elliza Foster from HMRC. She was insistent on obtaining my name, address, and National Insurance number. When I declined to share my address and NI number, she became quite confrontational, threatening that a lawsuit was in progress and that my lack of cooperation could lead to an arrest warrant being issued. When I cheekily suggested she proceed with it, she abruptly ended the call. Clearly, this is some sort of scam and deserves further scrutiny.

Got a robocall earlier saying HMRC had launched legal proceedings against me and to press 1 to talk to the case officer. Seemed super dodgy to me. Got a call from these muppets - don’t get tricked! In this country, the government doesn’t “file lawsuits against you,” they actually “go through the courts”. These clowns - proper criminal clowns - don’t know their stuff or maybe they’re from America, who knows. Oh, and I think the automated voice mentioned something like HRMC, which if I’m right sounds a bit off, like they're pretending to be Her Majesty’s Revenue Collection when they’re clearly not.

Got a voicemail from these idiots claiming to be from HMRC saying I’m about to be sued - funny thing is, they never say who’s suing me. I seriously wonder why the TPS or Ofcom don’t just track down where this call came from and nip it in the bud by dealing with everyone there.

Got a call twice within half an hour from someone claiming to be HMRC, threatening to sue me. Total scam for sure! They never even tried to check if they were speaking to the right person. Legit financial organisations always have to verify your ID at the start of any call before sharing info. If the government ignored these rules, especially about data protection, HMRC would be on shaky legal ground themselves - you’d be the one suing them! There's no way this was genuine HMRC.

On 13/12/18, I got a recorded call saying “There’s a claim against you, press 1 to hear more.” Then another one came through about a “tax fraud investigation, press 1 for info.” Both sounded dodgy to me.

We got three messages blocked by our bt call protect. The only bit I caught was a woman’s voice saying 'press one to talk to your case officer.' After seeing what others have said, I’m guessing this is just another one of those hmrc scams.

Got a call from 01618506733 today, left a voicemail about some court case involving HMRC. They said to press 1 if we wanted to talk to someone, but obviously I didn’t bother. They’ve called me loads of times before, so I’m used to it now, but still wish they’d get caught. Does anyone know what they’d actually get if someone pressed 1 and fell for it?

No doubt about it, this was a scam. I hit 1 to talk to them and immediately realised something was off. I've reported it to Action Fraud because the police seriously don’t mess around when it comes to people pretending to be HMRC (I'd suggest everyone else does this too). I also rang my phone company to check if I got billed for the call, luckily I wasn’t charged.

Today, I received a silent call from 0161 850 6733. Since I live in the 0161 area, I decided to call the number back, thinking it might be something important. After a few moments, someone with a strong foreign accent answered, pretending to be from HMRC. They’re definitely not from HMRC - just scammers trying to trick people. I’m not sure what their game is. I’ve already reported this number to the ICO and added it to my phone’s blocklist.

I'm gonna report these lot to the authorities. Just a scam call as always. Don't press any buttons, coz that'll rack up the phone bill on you. They tend to charge loads, anywhere from £10 to £30, and then they slap on a connection fee which can be as much as £50. Proper dodgy!

There’s plenty of proof they’re making money through lies, yet the telecom companies like bt keep handing over phone lines to them.
