I got a call on my mobile from someone who already had my name and said they wanted to talk about life insurance.

I received a call from this number while I was busy on my mobile and couldn’t pick up. Later on, I decided to return the call, and a woman on the other end seemed to know who I was right away. She mentioned something about the PPI reclaim I had initiated a couple of years back and informed me that I might now be able to get some money back for the commission charged on that PPI. I let her know that I was just about to head out, so I couldn't really dive into it at that moment. She said she'd send over a text with a link for me to look at later. The following day, I received a somewhat different reminder text. It came from EH Reclaim and referenced something called a “Plevin claim.” Curious, I did a bit of digging on EH Reclaim. While they appeared to be a legitimate legal outfit, their contact number was notably different and had an entirely different area code. I also checked the number on a few reverse phone lookup sites, one of which claimed it belonged to AQL Wholesale Ltd, who merely provide telecom services. Long story short, I’ve opted not to click on any links in those texts, and I’ve since blocked their number on my mobile.

Got a call from a lady speaking with a thick South African accent, honestly couldn’t catch what she was saying at all. Then she handed me over to another woman, also with the same kind of accent. This second woman started asking about stuff like PPI, bank loans, and car financing, even tried to get my Date of Birth. I just told her nicely to buzz off.

Be careful with this one. The caller knew my name, which was a bit creepy. I couldn’t quite catch what he was saying, but it seemed to be something about “tax” and “ppi.” When I asked if he mentioned PPI, he quickly denied it mumbling something I couldn’t make out. I told him I had no clue what he meant, and then he just hung up on me! Even though the number showed as Manchester, he didn’t sound like he was speaking from around here.

Got a call from this number today. The voice on the line sounded Asian and it was a woman who asked for me by my name. I didn’t give anything away and asked who was speaking. She mumbled something I couldn’t catch, then asked if I’d claimed PPI before. I said everything was sorted ages ago, including the tax on it. Then she started going on about some new claim where I could get money back. I just said “Good luck with that” and made it clear I wasn’t interested. She kept talking nonsense but I ended the call. Blocked the number straight away.
