I got a call on my mobile from someone who already had my name and said they wanted to talk about life insurance.

I missed a call from this number on my mobile, so I returned it later on. A woman answered straight away and already knew who I was. She mentioned something about a PPI refund I’d claimed a few years back and said I might be able to get back the commission fees I paid. I told her I was heading out and couldn’t chat at the moment. She said she’d send me a text with a link to check out later. The following day, I got another slightly different text, supposedly from EH Reclaim, referring to a “Plevin claim.” I searched for EH Reclaim online and they seemed like a proper law firm, but their phone number didn’t match - it was from a completely different region. I also checked the number on some reverse phone sites, and one said it belonged to AQL Wholesale Ltd, which looks like just the phone provider. For that reason, I never clicked on the links in the texts and have blocked the number on my phone now.

Got a call from a lady speaking with a thick South African accent, honestly couldn’t catch what she was saying at all. Then she handed me over to another woman, also with the same kind of accent. This second woman started asking about stuff like PPI, bank loans, and car financing, even tried to get my Date of Birth. I just told her nicely to buzz off.

Be careful with this one. The caller knew my name, which was a bit creepy. I couldn’t quite catch what he was saying, but it seemed to be something about “tax” and “ppi.” When I asked if he mentioned PPI, he quickly denied it mumbling something I couldn’t make out. I told him I had no clue what he meant, and then he just hung up on me! Even though the number showed as Manchester, he didn’t sound like he was speaking from around here.

Got a call from this number today. The voice on the line sounded Asian and it was a woman who asked for me by my name. I didn’t give anything away and asked who was speaking. She mumbled something I couldn’t catch, then asked if I’d claimed PPI before. I said everything was sorted ages ago, including the tax on it. Then she started going on about some new claim where I could get money back. I just said “Good luck with that” and made it clear I wasn’t interested. She kept talking nonsense but I ended the call. Blocked the number straight away.
