The weird bit is she’s never even had a diesel, nor does she use our landline number, so how on earth did they get it? We've told them loads of times already but they just keep ringing. Got an answering machine message from some American voice, all automated, saying HMRC’s taken legal action against me but didn’t say who. It told me to press 1 to talk to my case officer or call back on the same number. I googled it and saw loads of people saying the same, but all their comments are gone. I wouldn’t call that number again, probably a premium rate and could cost a fortune. Total SCAM!!!

Just had a mate come over all stressed out because he got a call from 0161 850 5654 saying he had two hours to pay £500 or he’d be nicked for evading tax. They claimed they’d sent letters before and even gave him some sort of post office ref and arrest number. He nearly believed it was legit cause of all the so-called details, but I had a quick search of the number on this site and told him it was a load of nonsense.

I got a voicemail from an 0300 number that was something like 0300 200 200 3300, it said “HMRC, there’s a legal case against you, call 0161 8505 654.” The 0300 number seemed legit like it could be HMRC, but the 0161 number felt dodgy, plus they didn’t say any names or anything.
