We got the identical voicemail on our answer machine. Pretty clear it's a scam, and I'm sure if you press 1, you'll end up getting charged.

Got a couple of calls, one on 7th Dec and another on 14th, claiming to be from HMRC warning me about a legal action and asking me to press 1 to talk to my caseworker. It didn’t feel right, so I looked up the number online and found out it was a scam. Seems loads of others have had the exact same dodgy calls. Proper relieved to know it wasn’t real!

I got a voicemail claiming there’s some court matter involving me. It told me to press 1 if I wanted to talk to someone about the case. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Got a similar spiel when I picked up the phone, and it told me to hit 1 to leave a message. At first, pretty nerve-wracking, but then I thought about it - if it was really HMRC, they’d have sent a letter in the mail and wouldn’t have asked for anyone specific like that.

When I answered, an answering machine picked up and played a message claiming to be from "HMRC," warning me that there was a lawsuit being filed in my name. It told me to press 1 right away to talk to my case officer. Gotta say, it gave me quite a fright at first. HOWEVER... after replaying it a few times, it’s obvious that it’s a scam. For one, HMRC would never give such a serious warning through a voicemail. Then also, a genuine call from them would include a contact number and a proper reference. So yeah, this is just another nasty prank call going around!

I just had one too, and I’m currently in the process of reporting it to the police.

My elderly mum, who’s 87, got a call and this bloke was really rude, saying they’d been trying to get hold of her. Then he went on about pressing 1 to talk to her police officer! Proper dodgy behaviour.
