On 12th Dec 2017, I had a proper chat with HMRC from my own landline around midday. Then, at 3:33pm, a dodgy HMRC call came through to the same phone. Bit suspicious if you ask me. The legit HMRC number given was 0300 200 3500, but I’m staying clear of that one now.

Interestingly, when a friend advised me not to disclose anything, the caller rudely retorted, requesting my friend to stay quiet.
