My 75-year-old neighbour received a call from this number on the 2nd of December. She was met with a recorded message, which she wisely ended without engaging further. However, they did leave a rather alarming message on her answerphone, claiming to be from HMRC, asserting that there was a High Court writ issued against her and urging her to ring them back forthwith. Thankfully, she recognised it for what it was - a scam. I worry that other vulnerable folks might not be so fortunate.

Received a call from this number, and they left a message claiming the HMRC was on the verge of suing me. Honestly, what a laugh! I promptly looked up the number and, surprise surprise, it’s a scam. Who would have thought? At this juncture, I've decided not to pick up calls from numbers I don't recognise. To be frank, the only one who tends to ring my landline these days is my dear old aunt, so it's invariably either a case of PPI or some dodgy scammer. It’s a pity BT doesn’t offer a way to block these sorts of calls.

Earlier today, around 8:45 AM on the 29th of November, 2016, I received a rather alarming automated message claiming that Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs was initiating legal action against me. It urged me to press 1 if I wished to hear further details. Naturally, I hung up immediately.

Today, my mother-in-law got an alarming call from someone claiming they were coming to apprehend her for overdue taxes, saying they'd arrive in thirty minutes! Thankfully, the police have confirmed it's nothing but a scam. It’s appalling how these despicable individuals instil fear in vulnerable people-there are surely some who might fall for their tricks. The authorities are on high alert and really hope to bring these rogues to justice. When I tried to speak to a supervisor about it, the person on the line claimed they couldn't do that and, upon my insistence that it was a scam, simply hung up on me. Ridiculous!
