I got a voicemail from this number on my landline claiming it was from some government agency threatening me with a lawsuit. They told me to press one if I wanted to talk to the police. Pretty sure it was just another one of those scams flooding our phones. You'd think phone companies would have better ways to block these annoying scam calls by now!

Just got the same dodgy call everyone’s been talking about. With all the warnings floating about, you’d reckon these scammers would put in a bit more effort instead of reusing the same tired trick. I just got a call and honestly, I agree with what others have said here. The moment I heard the accent and the telltale noise you usually get from call centres, I ended the call straight away. Definitely double-check with your phone company to see if answering this number ended up costing you anything extra. FYI, HMRC would always send a letter before calling, and they only make calls during the week, never on weekends.

Got a call that claimed to be from HMRC saying they were suing me - sounds just like the others described here. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now. Like a few others mentioned, they said they’re from HMRC and said I’ve got a court case against me. Press 1 to speak to someone. Total scam. Kept ringing me - got three calls just in one day. Eventually it went to voicemail so I blocked the number. I’m sure it’s not HMRC since they don’t have my home phone number. Plus, they always send letters before taking legal action. Proper dodgy lot.

Like others have mentioned, I got a call supposedly from HMRC claiming legal proceedings were about to start against me. They told me to ‘Press 1 to talk to your case officer’. Totally a scam or phishing attempt. I mean, HMRC wouldn't start something like that over the phone - they'd always send a letter first. Also, the call came on a Saturday morning, and HMRC isn’t open then anyway! Just a heads up, I’ve blocked the number now. Stay alert!

I’ve just received a rather alarming call from a number that kicked off with a recorded warning claiming that HMRC was gearing up to take legal action against me. It rattled me a bit, especially since I know someone who fell victim to an accountant’s fraud, which left them with a hefty £7,000 bill to HMRC after their dodgy accountant pocketed their money. After doing a bit of digging on this site, I discovered that several other folks have been targeted by these heartless con artists using the same number. They really do try to intimidate you into compliance. The first thing I asked was, “Why haven’t I received any written correspondence?” To which they promptly hung up. I’m not quite sure what would’ve followed, but it’s clear something deceitful is afoot. The voice on the line seemed to be an American-Asian female, introducing herself as Elisa Fisher. Quite the suspicious situation, I must say!
