Got a call from this number earlier but didn’t pick up. I’ve just gone through the feedback others left here, and honestly, something has got to be done. 0161 8503583 phoned me 5 times today, ive got an answerphone, caller id and i’m ex-directory, no clue how they got hold of my number. Picked up once and they said they were from HMRC, threatening legal action. These bloody scammers need to be stopped. PLEASE KEEP REPORTING THESE CALLS. I PAY my taxes and always have, the GOVERNMENT AND HMRC SHOULD BE DOING WAY MORE ABOUT THIS. ISN’T THIS WHY WE PAY TAXES IN THE FIRST PLACE?????????

0161 850 7033 called saying HMRC were taking legal action against us. They told me to "press 1 to talk to a case officer." It was really worrying. Me and my wife are in our seventies and honestly, we don’t need this sort of nonsense.

I received a call similar to many others, claiming to be from HMRC, stating that a lawsuit was imminent against me. They requested that I verify my name and address. I informed them that I wouldn't disclose any further details without assurance, and asked for a contact number to return their call. However, I struggled to understand the reply due to a thick Indian accent, and abruptly, the line went dead. When I attempted to call back, it initially rang like a UK number, but then it shifted to a dial tone, sounding distinctly American - definitely not the usual UK ringing tone.

I got a missed call from 01618503593 around 17.41 on Wednesday 11th Oct. I didn’t pick up but the caller left a recorded message saying HMRC are taking legal action against me and to press 1 to talk to my case officer. I’ve reported this number to [email protected] to see if anything can be done. Seriously, don’t interact with these scam callers - they’re just trying to trick you. Also be careful, if you answer a call right after theirs (like within 10 minutes), they might be keeping the line open to pretend it’s actually HMRC.
