5 monthsI got a call from a firm calling itself Debt Advice UK saying they were linked to StepChange. They pushed an IVA on me and claimed it was backed by the government. They offered to sort out my budget for me. Later, they asked me to use WhatsApp to send over some paperwork, with their logo showing “Money Advice.” After that, another company named Innovate Leads Solutions got in touch to record all my details. Eventually, they scheduled a chat with yet another company - AFA Insolvency based in Manchester on 0161850 1018.Debt Advice UKStepChangeWhatsAppMoney AdviceInnovate Leads SolutionsAFA InsolvencyManchester3 yearsBeware of AFA Insolvency acting like they’re a proper debt charity like Citizens Advice, StepChange, or MAS. They’re targeting people struggling with debt and pretending to be one of those trusted groups. They seem to get their contacts from lead providers and use those details to convince you to set up an IVA with them, which isn’t right at all. This feels like a total scam. If you come across them, try to find out exactly who’s behind the IVA arrangement and make sure you report it to Action Fraud.
