They claimed we'd enquired about home renovations 4 years back and offered £500 off. I've never had a chat with anyone about home improvements, but he kept going on like we did. Eventually, I told him to send the info in the post. Checking here, loads of others got the same call. If he calls again, I might mess around with him a little.

Got a call from a home renovation firm sayin I’ve got a £5000 voucher. I had a bit of a laugh with them, asking if the voucher could be used for a s#### dungeon or stuff like that, just keepin it going till they gave up.

Loads of these annoying calls lately from loads of different numbers and ‘Hidden numbers’. We just ignore them, let them leave a voicemail, which mostly they don’t bother with, then we report it. If everyone who got calls from these scammers pushed for action (can’t they track a number from where it’s coming from??!!) the so-called law-makers might finally take them down.

I was like what rain? she said storm dennis. I just laughed and told her I was ending the call. Honestly, I think this is dodgy and could trick vulnerable folks easily.

I've told these people countless times to take my number off their list. Today they went by Home Solutions, but before they've called themselves Home Renovations, Virgo Home Improvements, First Choice Home Improvements, Low Cost Home Improvements or Security Solutions. All ring from the same phone number. Seriously, avoid buying anything from these lot.

Problem is, some elderly or vulnerable folks might get caught out by these scams unless steps are taken. Every single one of these calls needs reporting. Just search for ‘action fraud’, click on the ‘police.uk’ website, head to the reporting section and file it as phishing. There's no need to sign up or anything. The police only take serious action when they see a huge volume of reports. Simply blocking or ignoring these calls, texts, or emails doesn’t actually fix the issue.

Got a call from a bloke who knew my name and claimed I’d been interested in home improvements back in 2016 (which I definitely wasn’t). Kept calling me ‘love’ the whole time! He said he was offering £500 off any work I wanted done and asked if I wanted a quote. I kept saying I wasn’t interested but he just wouldn’t take it, so I had to just put the phone down.

Got a call from 01618265894 today. I use Sky Shield, so the caller has to identify themselves. The bloke said his name was Carl, and since I know someone called Carl, I picked up. He said he was with a home security company and that they’re installing CCTV nearby, supposedly with police approval. I told him I already have CCTV installed, and he hung up straight away. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a call just now from this Manchester number. Some bloke said he was from Lo-Cost Home Improvements, pushing to sell windows and doors. Really pushy bloke, kept pushing for us to book a visit to check the pointing on our house. My hubby tried ringing them back to cancel but all we got was a recorded message with an American accent telling us to press star if we want to speak to someone. Pressed star but nothing happened, message just looped nonstop. Funny thing is, I got the same call earlier today from a Sheffield number, which was 01143869496.

Some woman somehow managed to get past Sky's shield with a name I couldn't even understand. The number was from Manchester, where I’ve got family, so I let her through. She said her name was Sarah and claimed she’d called me last January about work on my house. I instantly knew it was dodgy. Got a similar call a couple of weeks back, and that time they actually asked for my bank info. Seems like they’re sneaking past phone company defences by pretending to give their name. Just watch out, folks.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from SKY Shield, with a name I couldn’t quite catch. The number showed up as Manchester, where I have family, so I let it ring through. Got a call from a young lady with an Eastern European accent asking, “Is this Mrs (partner’s surname)?” I told her no and asked who she was. She claimed to be from “UK Security Systems”. When I asked what the call was about, she said they were in Leeds offering CCTV installations. I told her I hadn’t requested the call and mentioned the Telephone Preference Service. She said she knew about it, so I reminded her this number is on the TPS list and to stop calling. Is it normal for the same number to be used by loads of different spammers, or should it make me more cautious?

I used to receive incessant calls from a home renovation outfit that was operating out of Bradford. They were ridiculously tenacious and it resulted in quite a bit of annoyance on my part. I believe they were shut down eventually for their pesky tactics. I’d wholeheartedly recommend steering clear of them at every opportunity - the number in question is 0161 826 5894.

Got a call from someone named Tracey who, all professional like, starts with “How are ya darling?” She kept ringing my mum, who used to be on the directory, and called her by her name loads of times even after we told them to remove her. Mum's now armed with a whistle loud enough to shatter eardrums!

Received a call earlier today, roughly around half one, but I didn’t pick up as I tend to let unfamiliar numbers ring. After doing a bit of digging, it’s clear this is one of those dodgy scam outfits trying to peddle their wares. Best to steer clear!

Check out my earlier posts from 20/6/19 and 27/5/19 too. I've told them multiple times to take my info off their contact list. Clearly, they didnt listen. Now they’re ringing up saying they’re “Security Solutions”. Same number, just changing the fake company name every time (never can find anything about these supposed firms online - what kind of business nowadays aint got online presence?).

I think it’s a window sales firm, maybe Safestyle or something similar. They called me a few times in just a few minutes. I said I wasn’t interested in any windows, but they just wouldn’t take the hint and kept ringing. Had to block the number in the end! Got a call from some guy claiming to be from 'Capricorn Home Solutions', said he got my details from Safestyle UK or something, offering to re-spray my brickwork to cut heating costs by 30%. They mentioned a £500 voucher plus an extra discount for pensioners - seemed a bit suspect. I’m not one for taking calls like this, so I just ended the call politely. Received a rather unsolicited call from a certain Mr. Timothy Hawthorne, if you can believe that - quite the name he’s got! He was touting a rather pedestrian offering of windows and doors. I politely informed him yesterday to refrain from contacting me further and to erase my details from his list. Lo and behold, he rang again today claiming I had a £500 voucher waiting for me! I made it clear that I have no interest in monetary incentives and am not inclined to participate. Once more, I requested that my number be removed from his database. It all seems like a ruse designed to harvest personal information to peddle to other companies. Quite the cheek of it, if you ask me!

I got a call from the same number again, but this time the person said they were from Virgo Home Improvements, a firm I stupidly let do some rubbish work nearly 4 years back. They couldn’t explain why someone else called last month from that number pretending to be from a totally different business they claimed wasn’t even familiar to them. Seriously, don’t buy anything from these people.

Received a rather dubious call from a company claiming to be Home Renovations, asserting they were involved with crime prevention initiatives. Curiously, when I inquired about how they acquired my (protected) phone number, they insisted I had spoken with them two years prior, which is categorically false-I’ve never encountered them before. When I pressed for their website details, they provided an address that turned out to be non-existent (the domain is still up for grabs!). After I requested to be taken off their contact list, they abruptly hung up on me. Apparently it was Safestyle Windows calling. I've spoken to them a few times, asked repeatedly for them to stop calling, yet here comes another call today. I've ended up ringing Safestyle direct and had a chat with their customer service. They weren't very helpful, just said they'd mention it to their manager, but honestly, I don’t have much faith they’ll actually sort this out.

I've received numerous calls from this number since the beginning of Spring, all inquiring if I'm pleased with the two doors I allegedly had installed by Safestyle earlier this year. I informed them that I hadn't actually had any doors fitted, yet they insisted their records indicated a February installation. Each time I spoke to them, I explained that their information was incorrect and requested that they cease calling me. I had new windows put in, not doors, but I left that detail out. Frankly, I wouldn't recommend Safestyle unless you fancy dealing with relentless phone calls from third-party callers-they clearly sell your details on.

Received a call around half past twelve today from a chap named Steve, who started prattling on about my double glazing. I told him I'd sorted that, but it was clear he was aware of it-and even mentioned my new door that I had fitted about a year ago! I probed him about where he was calling from, and he mentioned Yorkshire. When I pressed him further, he kept dodging the question until he finally revealed that they were with Homestyle (which is, incidentally, linked to my door from Safestyle). He went on to say they were launching a factory in Warrington. Then, out of the blue, he mentioned a £500 voucher from his manager and asked how I might want to use it-porch, garage door, ridge tiles, you name it. I told him it was all taken care of and was a bit puzzled as to why he didn’t already know that, seeing as he seemed to have a handle on everything else! I thanked him politely and ended the call, promptly blocked the number!

A bloke rang me saying he was from Safestyle and asked for me by name. He mentioned that I bought a couple of doors from them a couple of years ago. He reckoned I could get £500 off if I bought something new within six months. I told him I was thinking about replacing my front door, and he said there were agents in my area tomorrow who could call round. Then he started going on about prices going up after we leave “Europe” (not sure about that!). I called total nonsense on that. Judging by the other comments I've seen here, it looks like these calls are from Safe Style marketing. I've already had all the home improvements I need and can afford, and I’ve told them that loads of times. But they just keep ringing every number they’ve got on file, no matter what I’ve said before. What’s worse is now they’re doing those silent hang-up calls, probably hoping we’ll call them back so they can claim they never broke any ‘no call’ promises. Honestly, that’s exactly why I ignore all calls like this and will keep doing so in the future.

Nice caller, gave me the usual sales spiel but since we already have what we need, there wasnt much point and the chat finished nicely. Yup, it was that safe style lot again, trying to sell home improvements with some 60% off deal. I get that they’ve got work to do but ive just blocked another safe style number now.

Got a call from these lot saying they'd inspect our roof and windows for energy loss. Told them we've already got enough insulation, but sick of the constant ringing so I decided to play along and booked a visit just to wind them up. When the supervisor rang back, he said they’d only check the windows as they’re more than 10 years old. These firms are such a pain, even though the caller was nice, I really don’t want them bothering me anymore, so their number’s blocked now.

Had a call from someone claiming to be from Safe Style. Really irritating. I’ve just blocked the number now.

They said they were from a company connected to Safestyle UK, which I actually used about nine years back, and claimed I got a 65% discount. It was all just a ploy to make me buy more double glazing. And we all know once they've got their foot in your door, it's a nightmare to get rid of 'em!

I called back and got some automated US car service. It asked me to leave a message or press £ or press 0 to speak to someone, so I just dropped the call. Number’s blocked now.

No name was provided, and when I rang back there was this automated voice with an American accent saying to leave a message or press 0 to speak to an operator. Definitely looks like a scam number to me.
