Hello there! I've been receiving persistent calls from this number, and the person on the line insists they're affiliated with the Credit Investigations Department. Received a couple of calls today from the number 02045099632, with just 58 minutes in between each. The first was from a chap with an Indian accent who managed to mention my first name, as well as my surname, while claiming to represent some sort of credit investigations firm. I firmly told him I had already requested to have my number removed from their list and asked him to cease calling me. He promptly hung up. Fast forward less than an hour, and then a woman with a similar accent gave me a ring, addressing me correctly by my first and last names too, and referencing the same company. I reiterated my previous insistence to her, adding that I’d already spoken with one of her colleagues about this. She seemed quite flustered and apologetic before hanging up again.

Some bloke claimed to be from the "credit investigation bureau" trying to talk about a debt I supposedly owed. When I asked if it was a scam, he went quiet for a second and then said something about using a BT line, claiming all government bodies use BT lines. I looked it up on the FCA site and found a warning saying this company isn’t FCA authorised for finance stuff. Best avoid them completely - the FCA has an 0800 number you can ring to report if you've been tricked by this dodgy outfit.

It's rather baffling how this number managed to bypass my Do Not Disturb settings and rouse me from my precious slumber during a night shift.
