I just looked up Niftel and it turns out they’re an Indian telecom firm with a location in India, so I’m not sure why they’re calling from a Manchester number. This has all the hallmarks of a SCAM, total rubbish! Stay clear and don’t get fooled!!!

Got a call from a woman with a foreign accent claiming to be from the UK Benefits Dept. I asked about my benefits since I’m off sick with broken bones. She said she’d check with her manager and call me back by 5pm, but never did. When I rang the number back, a guy with what sounded like an American accent answered, said I’d called Niftel, then just hung up.

This number has been bombarding me with calls, usually around five or six times daily, only to hang up without a word. Today, I finally decided to pick up, and to my surprise, it was an Asian gentleman claiming to be from a debt collection agency. He insisted that I had some outstanding debts that needed addressing. I promptly informed him that he must be mistaken, and without another word, he abruptly terminated the call. To put it simply, it wasn’t the most pleasant conversation to endure, so I thought it important to warn others about this kind of dubious activity.

Just got a call at 1pm from an Asian guy claiming he worked for the Credit Investigation Department. From what I’ve found online, this sounds like a known scam. Back in 2014 the FCA flagged this outfit for doing unlicensed consumer credit stuff in the UK. When I asked for the name of the company he was with, he got all flustered, mumbled something I couldn’t catch and then ended the call. Next time, might be a good idea to check if they’re FCA regulated first. Either way, another scam call blocked!
