I’m always suspicious of calls from numbers that ain’t saved in my contacts since I only share my mobile with people I know or deal with, and their details are always stored in my phone. When I saw this call came up flagged as possible scam, I decided not to pick up.

I couldn’t catch the exact name, but it had something to do with car insurance and an accident. A very polite bloke asked for me by name and said he was calling about a claim I supposedly made with my insurer. I told him I hadn’t put in any claim and he asked if either me or a passenger had any accidents within the last year. When I said no, he quickly said he’d take my details off their system before I even got a chance to ask him to do so.

Got a call from Legal Solutions wanting to talk to Mandy about a car crash. Feels like they’re using the same list as those messaging from Lowell, mentioning Mandy or Amanda about money owed. Totally sounds like a scam. I said I don’t know anyone called Mandy and asked them not to ring again. This number’s now on my blocked list on my phone.

This number has called me multiple times previously. They pronounced my surname wrong and spoke with an Indian accent, asking how I paid for this. The very first time, I hung up straight away once they asked. Today, 12th January 2021, at 4.07pm, the call came through but I didn't pick up because my phone flagged it as potential fraud and showed the caller was from Manchester. Since I live in Plymouth, Devon, someone ringing from Manchester seemed suspicious. I’ve reported the number to my phone survey company and blocked it already. According to a website, this number is marked as dangerous and has over 822 complaints. It's apparently been linked to a car insurance scam, targeting people who don’t even own cars or have had accidents. It’s really annoying, harassing and feels unsafe.

Had this number ring me 4 separate times all day - morning, afternoon, and evening. Every time I couldn’t pick up for some reason. I called back each time but it never connected. Instead, there's a message saying "we tried to reach you but you were unavailable, we'll try again later," but it doesn’t say who they are or what it’s about. No option to talk to anyone or leave a voicemail. It felt really fishy, so I ended up here to check it out. I haven’t been in any crashes or anything, so how did they get my number? Got a call yesterday from a scammer claiming to be BT, but the accent was super thick Asian, barely spoke clear English, said her name was “Suzanne” - yeah right!
