Whenever I see a number I don't know, I pick up, say nothing and just hang up right away then walk off. I can usually hear a quiet "hello" or "hello" as I move away. If its important, they’ll send a text anyway.

Then, an Indian woman rang from the same number and actually got moody when I told her I wasn’t interested in her sales nonsense! She said something like "Some folks make a living from this??" I told her I wasn’t bothered listening to her chatting rubbish. I tried ending the call, but it wouldn’t hang up, so I had to switch off my Android to stop it. After that, I blocked their calls and texts. What a pain in the neck!

Got a call from this number around 11:30am, and when I picked up, there was this lady speaking on a recorded message saying something about "ilove my office" or summat like that. Then it gave me three choices. I chose the second option to stop getting calls. After that, I was put through to a lady who talked in some Indian language, saying my number would be removed within 24 to 48 hours. I ended the call after that.
