01618188912 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01618188912 👆 is reported as a persistent and sophisticated scam targeting individuals with false promises of substantial PPI refunds, frequently quoting a figure around £3,000. Callers often use various bank names and claim refunds require upfront payment via vouchers like Amazon or Apple cards. They employ scripted voices, sometimes with heavy foreign accents, and leave voicemail messages to entice callbacks. The scam involves attempts to gather personal payment information or fees and may involve courier visits for staged cheque deliveries. Victims include vulnerable groups, especially the elderly, and the operation uses multiple phone numbers and aliases. Genuine banks never demand fees via vouchers or convey large sums by courier. Users are strongly advised to verify any communication independently and avoid sharing financial details or making payments.

I received a rather dodgy voicemail from a woman named Anna, who spoke with quite a thick accent. She claimed that my late stepfather was entitled to a payout of £3,000 relating to PPI from Halifax. It’s glaringly obvious that it’s a scam; he never held a PPI claim with them. Furthermore, reputable financial institutions would never disclose sensitive information like that over a voicemail, and it’s rather unlikely that a PPI claim would yield such a neat and tidy sum. It seems she was angling to fish for bank details under false pretenses.

Some scammer tried to con me out of money. They said I could get £3000 back in PPI from Lloyds Bank if I bought a £200 Amazon voucher for them. I’ve never even had an account with Lloyds!

I picked up and asked who it was, but they didn’t say anything back. After a while, they started rambling about insurance stuff.

I just got a call from some bloke claiming I'd won a PPI claim, which I've never even done. I wasn’t around at the time but they left a voicemail - sounded like an Indian guy. I saved the message too. Such awful people trying to scam cash off anyone who's easy to fool. Proper sickening. 😡

Got a call from someone calling himself "Edward" - doo doo doo - saying he was from HSBC about PPI. Told that annoying bloke to get lost. Seriously, why can’t the authorities crack down on these dodgy scammers?

I received a call from a lady who clearly wasn’t fluent in English, claiming to be from Lloyd’s. I inquired about the purpose of her call, and she mentioned something to do with a bank account. Curiosity got the better of me, so I asked her for my bank account number, and not surprisingly, she abruptly hung up on me! The funny thing is, I don’t even have an account with Lloyd’s!

Alright mate, whatever your name is, Roger Wilson or something, just hear me out. Don’t try messing with me, or I swear I’ll track you down. After that, you won’t be playing any games, got it?

Got a call from 01618188921 just now. It was a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from Halifax Bank, telling me I’d won £3000 in PPI compensation. She said I could get the payment today if I bought a £200 Amazon Gift Card first. Pretty obvious scam to me. I tried calling the number back and picked up a firm called Oracle Legal. Turns out Oracle Legal is a legit company but they use other phone numbers, so this was definitely a fraud.

phone rang, I answered and then it just cut off. Later got a voicemail from a woman, sounded Asian, said her name was either Jenifer or Jessica and that she was calling from Halifax. She said I should ring back because I had a PPI payout of £3000. Honestly, screw you Jenifer or Jessica, what a scam.

On the 9th of May 2019, I got a call from someone named Richard Wilson who said my pip claim with Lloyds was accepted and I'd be getting £3000 back. I didn't bother calling him back on 01618188912, which was a landline.

Me and my missus are pensioners, and we’ve spent over £2000 on “fees” to this dodgy outfit, all we got was nothing but false promises. Complete waste of money!

Got a call at my job from someone with a foreign accent, rang like 10 times back to back. They were asking all sorts of weird, personal stuff. Someone needs to track this caller down and put an end to these annoying calls.

On 2nd May 2019, I got a voicemail from someone called Jessica about a Woolwich account. She told me my PPI claim was successful and I was owed £3,000! That sounded just about believable since I'd had a loan with the Woolwich ages ago and had only recently put in a claim for PPI. So I looked up the number online, and thankfully I did - turns out it's a scam! Really glad I checked before getting hopeful.

Received a pair of calls this morning, spaced just five minutes apart. One hailed from a mobile number, while the other came from an 0161 prefix. Both inquiries were for a person whose name didn't ring any bells here. I chose not to let them carry on because the name they threw around appears to be linked to some outstanding debts-I've had countless calls over the years since I switched to this number with Virgin from BT. Clearly, their records are rather out of date. As for the caller? Who can say, really?

Got a call from Ricard Wilson today, he told me John Logan would be dropping by with a cheque for, guess what, £3000! But here’s the catch, I’d need to sort out a £300 charge through a Google Play card when he showed up, cause apparently some folks were dodging the fees after. Bit dodgy if you ask me!

Someone got in touch claiming I was entitled to a PPI refund of £3000, promising to drop it off at my place today. However, they insisted I pay a commission in the shape of vouchers-Apple or Amazon, something along those lines. It all seemed rather suspicious to me, so I asked them to confirm everything in writing. Haven’t heard a peep from them since.

Yesterday, an elderly relative of mine received a phone call from a lady speaking with a foreign accent, claiming to represent Nat West. We didn’t hang around to find out more, since my cousin doesn’t even have an account with them, so we promptly disconnected. It felt fishy, and we suspected it might be some sort of scam.

I got a call on our landline from 0161 8188912, and there was this woman with a non-English accent who said she was from Nat West. She even called my elderly cousin by her first name, which was weird because she doesn’t have an account there. We ended the call right away because it seemed really suspicious. Definitely don’t trust this number!

I just got a call from a bloke using the number 01618188912 claiming his name was Richard Wilson. He told me I was due a £3000 PPI payout that was supposed to be delivered today. Then he went on about it being a no win no fee situation, but said I’d have to pay the courier £200 to get it. I ended the call straight away and reckon you should do the same.

got a call just like that one, same name and exact money they mentioned. ppi compensation would never be a perfect round figure (like, seriously, the chances are crazy low). this is definitely a scam so watch out. banks never ring you up about ppi - they always send letters instead.
