Got a call on our home phone from 01618 188226, a woman with a strong Indian accent said she was from the ‘UK housing department’, talking about some repairs or damage to housing. We don’t live in council housing or anything, and our number is even on the ‘do not call’ list. Seems totally bogus to me.

Got a couple of calls from 01618188226. When it rang the first time, my hubby picked up but no one said anything. The second time, I answered and there was this guy with a strong Asian accent. I could barely catch what he was saying but it sounded like something about fixing up council houses. I told him we don’t live in any council property and asked him to stop calling with these unwanted offers.

There was a massive delay before the person answered, and when they did, their thick Indian accent was almost impossible to make out. I could hear loads of other voices in the background like it was some call centre full of scammers. They tried asking me something about my home, but I couldn’t catch what they were saying properly because of the accent. Sounded like they were reading from a script, just like all those dodgy telemarketers tryna con people out of money. Told the bloke to hold his phone somewhere else and ended the call.

Got a call from some bloke named Geoffrey Stevens from India - supposedly from "fone car house". He sounded all posh and polite but trust me, he's a total con artist! I had a bit of fun with him, winding him up so much he ended up swearing and hanging up on me. My usual trick is answering in some weird accent, then copying everything they say and making daft noises. It’s proper entertaining, especially when I’m out and about. They don’t like it one bit, but honestly, what else do they expect ringing me twice every day? I’m baffled how anyone actually falls for these plonkers!

0161 818 8226 Honestly, this number keeps buzzing me every single day at the same hour even though I'm on the TPS list. I got through to some Indian bloke whose English was barely understandable over this loud call centre background. He kept saying he wanted to assist with my household bills but never bothered to say his name or what company he was calling from. I just let him keep talking, put the phone down on the floor and went off to do something else. Think he finally got the hint.

They rang me a couple of times. The first call was just dead silence when I picked up, but the second time they went on with the usual spiel about being from some "housing department" and offering help for "damage" problems. I got a call from this number claiming to be from some housing dept asking if I had issues like mould or damp. When I asked which housing dept they were with, they just said “independent”. I asked why they cared about my problems then, and they said they’d fix everything at no cost. I found it quite funny and told her to name my housing dept, then questioned why they'd randomly call me out of the blue with a free fix offer. She just ended the call right there. Sounds like a total scam to me.

I just received a rather dodgy phone call from someone claiming to be affiliated with a housing agency. They inquired if I was experiencing any issues, such as damp or mould in my home. When I pressed them for the name of this so-called housing department, they replied it was an independent body. Naturally, I was curious about their interest in my situation, to which they insisted they could remedy everything at no cost. I found this amusing, so I challenged them to identify my actual housing department and questioned the random nature of their offer. Strangely enough, they abruptly hung up. It’s clear to me that this is a scam.

01618188226 rang us saying they could sort out damp, mould and rat issues free of charge - but only if you’re renting from the council or with a housing association. When you say yes, they get a manager on who asks for your rent amount and then wants you to send photos via WhatsApp to another number. Since we’re a business, we've had loads of calls on different lines and pretended to be interested but never gave any real info. It’s clearly a scam targeting people who might be struggling. Watch out for this one!

I received a call from someone claiming to be David Wilson, who purportedly works for the L&Q Group, a housing association trust. This individual, with a thick Indian accent, said they were offering a complimentary repair service for my home. I got a ring from this number, definitely sounded like some foreign call centre pretending to be from the UK Housing Dept. The bloke was going on about fixing stuff like damp, mould or rats in your house for free. Totally felt like a dodgy scam to me. I told him we had no issues and he quickly ended the call. According to the reverse lookup, this number belongs to a groundworks firm, so it looks like these scammers have nicked the real company's number somehow.
