I received a dodgy message claiming to be from the bank, saying they were sending me a refund cheque. Total con!

Received a call regarding an offer of £2020. I expressed my concerns when I inquired about the source of their information. The caller assumed that having my address would make me more inclined to believe him. When I declined his proposition, he called me foolish for letting the money slip away. I queried whether they would send a cheque to my residence without requesting any further details. (To be clear, I never provide any personal information over the phone.) His response was that a senior colleague would personally deliver the cheque to my home. I highly doubt that will occur!

I received a rather dubious call claiming there was a cheque waiting for me - a neat sum of £2800, but they promptly deducted £480 for admin costs. On top of that, they mentioned something about providing me with four £50 iTunes vouchers, which Catherine Cox assured me would be reimbursed when she came around with the cheque. To be honest, I couldn't even make sense of the organisation supposedly behind this! I've had a word with the police, and my gut feeling tells me this is nothing but a scam.
