I received a call from this number, but I chose to let it ring out. After doing a quick search online, it seems to be linked to one of those dodgy accident insurance firms that claim someone dear to you has been involved in a car crash! I thought I'd share this in case it aids anyone else.

Got a call from someone saying they were from National Green Energy about a boiler replacement under some government grant. They asked loads about my house and how it’s insulated. Then, while I was chatting away, they sneaked in some personal questions without me realising.

I received a dodgy call from a so-called call centre, probing me about a car crash that I supposedly had a role in. They claimed to have information regarding my involvement and offered to assist me with a compensation claim for injuries! To be honest, I had my suspicions right from the get-go, especially when I noticed the caller had an Indian accent. It was clear I was dealing with a crew of con artists!

Scammers have been ringing from 0161 818 7874 with the same fake stories about car crashes. They try to convince you that you can claim on insurance, even if you weren’t in any accident. It’s really nasty, like stealing from people who don’t know any better. I’ve reported these numbers to Action Fraud UK already.

Got a call saying I'd been in some accident that never took place. Proper sketchy. When I asked about that scammer tactic and how he pulled it off, he just dropped the call.

Like loads of folks, I've had a bunch of calls where they just cut off the moment I answer. One time, though, they asked me about "the car crash I apparently had lately." I knew straight away I hadn’t been in any accident, so I just told them to bugger off cause they were obviously crooks. Then they started shouting back with even nastier words than I used. Guess they couldn't care less about the Do Not Call register or how to stop cold calls.

I got a call from 0161 818 7878 and this bloke with an Indian accent was saying I’d been in some kind of accident. Told him he’d dialled the wrong number but he wouldn’t let it go. I said I don’t even drive and he kept insisting I’m still entitled to make a claim. Could’ve gone back and forth with him but figured it was easier to just hang up and block the number.

They've rung me a few times already, and often the call drops right when I pick up. Every time I tell them I don't recall any accident and ask for more info. The first time they just ended the call, but today the lady forwarded me to her supervisor because she said she couldn’t share the details about my supposed accident! The bloke claimed they'd got information from Aviva, but I'm not insured with Aviva at all. Then he tried to say it might be the other driver's insurer, and afterwards suggested I could have been a passenger, not the driver. I've blocked their number now.

Got a call about some accident claim they said was pending - which I've never made.
