He got proper nasty after I chuckled when he mentioned his name was Micheal. Then he told me to go f#ck my mum and started shouting stuff like 'go die'.

This number has rung my landline twice over the past week. Every time I answer, there’s just silence before they cut the call. Strange behaviour.

I received a couple of calls in quick succession from a rather impolite gentleman with a discernible foreign accent. It was clearly a PPI scam attempt. What measures can be taken to put an end to such nuisances?

Had yet another couple of calls this afternoon. It’s the same obnoxious bloke insisting that I requested he ring me back regarding my PPI. What on earth is PPI?

This number keeps calling me, and it's really starting to get on my nerves. I've no idea how they even got hold of my details!

I got a call twice, once yesterday and once today. Each time I picked up, there was silence on the other end. It was pretty weird.

That 01618182501 number is a total scam, don’t trust it at all. I got hit up by them and it was definitely dodgy. Watch out, folks!

Some bloke rang my work just now, sounded like he was in some shouting call centre overseas. Wanted to speak to my husband, so I asked if I could get a message. He claimed to be from the "transatlantic refund centre" or summat. I kept my cool and just told him to piss off. Definitely a dodgy scam.

In a rather intriguing twist, I received two telephone calls within a mere five minutes from this number. The first interruption was from a woman, followed shortly by a chap, both sporting distinctly Indian accents. They were on about some large refund we could claim from our bank regarding PPI. However, they were rather keen on obtaining our bank details... not too sure about this!

They rang me but just dropped the call immediately.

As soon as I caught the sound of a call centre in the background, I hung up straight away, without letting anyone say a word. Almost every scam call I get here has a Manchester area code!

Absolute scam! I refused to give any details and the bloke just went off on me saying 'f### you' before hanging up on me. Real professional, yeah right!

I had two calls today from these people asking about my mum. When I told them she passed away last year, they just kept going on saying I’m the one with the PPI claim. That can’t be right though since I’ve never taken out any loans. It’s really frustrating!

These people are so rude, whenever you dont give them what they ask for, they just hang up on you. Honestly, these companies shouldnt even be allowed to run. They need to shut down and have their staff do something productive for once instead of bothering everyone.

Hey everyone, just a heads up - these folks are total con artists. They said they were from the Claims Advisory Group, using the exact scam line as mentioned in the comment below. They told me I needed to spend £200 on iTunes vouchers to get my “money,” which is obviously rubbish. Seriously, don’t fall for it. If they ring you, seriously, just shout at them down the phone! I’ve already reported them to Action Fraud. If you can, do the same - it’s the only way to put a stop to these scammy idiots. Cheers, David.

This is clearly a PPI con... just disregard it.

I just got a call from them, saying I’d won £3000 in PPI compensation and that someone would ring back with the cheque today. I told them straight up it was a scam, then mentioned I’d recorded the call and reported it.

I got a call today from a man who sounded quite polite, he asked for me by name and when I said yes, he just hung up straight away.

Got a call today from some scammers who seemed to know quite a bit about me, except for the exact loan amount linked to my PPI. They wanted me to give them £200 right away, saying the cheque would clear within 30 to 40 minutes and then I had to pay up. As usual, they told me to dash over to Tesco and buy an iTunes voucher. I called him out as a scammer and said he was a terrible person. He was really pushy and kept trying to convince me. It all went downhill when he told me to “f### off.” Proper nasty bloke.

Got a call from 01618182501 on 31/10/2017 that sounded a lot like other reports from the same day about PPI and the financial ombudsman. When I asked them to specify which loan it was about, they couldn’t give me a clear answer and started spinning some rubbish story about a Lloyds card I’ve never owned. Definitely feels like a scam to me.

Somebody claiming to be from PPI rang me with a really bad accent that I could barely make out. He said I owed £200 as VAT or something to the financial ombudsman, so they’d release a cheque and deliver it today. Weirdly, he already had my address, which I have no idea how. I told him I’d call back and stopped the chat. He gave me a number, 0203 7460225, but when I checked my caller ID with 1471, it showed 0161 8182501 instead. He mentioned Manchester, but honestly, who knows? I had a bad feeling about him from the start, especially after a recent letter from RBS. Felt dodgy all the way.

Received a call from this number earlier today, and I could barely make out what the bloke was saying. He mentioned something about a PPI claim and suggested that once I provided some details, a cheque would be sent my way. Seemed a bit dodgy, to be honest, as most people just send them through the post and don’t come knocking at your door. He then began probing for my personal information, but thankfully, I didn’t divulge anything. Better to be safe than sorry!

I got a call about some PPI claim nonsense, told them I never had PPI and just ended the call.

Be careful with this number, it’s said to be linked to scammers. They’ll call saying you’ve got a PPI claim waiting, but their real aim is to snatch your bank details. If you don’t give them that info, they’ll push you to cough up £200 in iTunes vouchers, claiming it’s tax for the claim. They might tell you to pop down to a local shop to buy them and say someone will come pick them up from your home. Definitely a con. I’d advise contacting Action Fraud to let them know.
