She actually knew my name which was a bit weird. I heard loads of noise in the back, so I guessed it was a dodgy call. I ended it straight away and blocked the number. Then, not long after, my landline rang and it was the same thing, so I blocked that one too.

My phone company flagged this number as spam and it went straight to my voicemail. When I checked the message, I noticed there was some kind of Caribbean hold music playing, which gave it away as an auto-dialled call. Then a person came on the line and acted like they thought someone had picked up.

I got a call from a woman who sounded Asian, asking for me by my name. When I asked where she was calling from, her answer was really unclear and I couldn’t make out the company. I asked her again, saying I was a bit hard of hearing, but she just repeated the same confusing reply. Then she claimed HMRC would be sending me some refund info in a few days. I told her I wasn’t falling for any of that and ended the call, then blocked the number straight away.

It was really weird how they already had my name and where I lived even though I hadn’t told them anything. I only confirmed my name when they asked. Then they wanted to know which bank I used (I didn’t say) so they could supposedly help me get a refund from HMRC PPI tax, taking 40% if successful, no win no fee. Felt odd they knew stuff beforehand. They kept pressing me about loans or finance deals I might have, but I explained I hadn’t any. Then, without even saying goodbye, they just ended the call! Pretty rude if you ask me.

Got two calls this week, both about 8:30 in the morning, saying I’m owed money back from HMRC. They messed up my birth date and kept pushing me to verify my info.
