I usually don’t pick up, then they just switch one number and ring me again! So annoying!

This number kept ringing me a few times. I wasn’t home till today, so finally I picked up. The lady on the other end, with an accent, said I should be getting some money back from HMRC. I told her no way, if there was anything like that it would be handled by my accountant anyway. She kept pushing, so I just told her to sort herself out and quit trying to scam folks.

Got a call from someone claiming I was owed a refund, something about a bad phone line but never really said why. Told me to ring them back, but of course, they never picked up when I did. Got a call from this number and normally I just block anything I don’t recognise. They left a silent voicemail the other day. Today they rang again - at first there was some music playing, like a steel drum band, then a woman with an East Asian accent asked for me by my first name (guessing they got that from the old voicemail). Then she just hung up. Pretty sketchy considering they’ve called before, definitely feels like some kind of scam. I think I’ll switch my voicemail to something different now.

This number rang my landline the other day, and I've also been getting loads of calls from 0161 codes lately. The caller asked for someone who doesn’t live here, gave a name that’s not connected to this address. I told them no one like that lives here and then they just hung up. Felt like a scam to me. They all seem to start with that weird "how are you today?" line, which no proper company would say right away. Definitely dodgy behaviour.

Got a call from some dodgy person with a weird accent, claiming I was owed a tax refund. I thought it was total rubbish, specially since the line kept cutting out. They actually knew my name, but the moment they mentioned a tax refund, I just cut them off. They tried ringing me about 5 or 6 times before I finally answered.

Just got a call about ten minutes back from an Indian lady saying I qualified for some PPI refund. Right away, I guessed it was dodgy. Told her straight up it was a scam. She then started talking about sending me a link but I told her firmly no thanks and to remove my number from their records. She wasn’t paying attention to me at all so I ended the call and blocked the number.

Honestly, just ignore and block the number. If HMRC owes you money, you’ll definitely get it through official channels anyway!

I hung up to avoid any dodgy scam, but the number rang me back several times. Eventually, I answered again and the guy started swearing at me. Honestly, what a joke.
