I just got a call on my home phone from this number on 28/4/16 around 6:40pm. Some young woman, who sounded really unprofessional, was shouting so loud I could barely understand her - the line kept crackling. She kept going on about some new way to help save money on heating bills and said their reps would be 'in my area tomorrow'. Then she asked what time I'd be home. When I told her I wasn’t interested and wouldn't be around, she abruptly ended the call. Really top-notch customer service, not!

Whenever someone rings me up trying to scam or trick me into giving out my details, I instantly drop all decency I usually hold onto, like being polite or respectful. Their attempt alone means they've started a sort of battle against me. At that point, I lose all inhibition and might come across as the most offensive, rude, and downright nasty person you’ve ever heard. I don’t hold back - my anger is all aimed right at the caller, and often their whole family too. So yeah, if you’re the one making those dodgy calls, watch out! I've been getting calls from some outfit called LEGAL RESPONSE, and honestly, they are one of the most annoying and pushy cold callers I've ever dealt with. Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent asking if I’d had an accident. I said "No, and I’m not interested," and he just hung up straight away. Funny thing is, the same number popped up years ago, back in 2011, offering PC repair services! I might be totally off, but if you’ve worked in a noisy place or around machinery like I used to, maybe your info’s been passed around somehow. Who knows by who though. When I was doing night shifts and catching up on sleep during the day, I got into the habit of just unplugging my phone. That way, callers wouldn’t get the usual dead line sound. Instead, it would just ring out as normal. So if the call really mattered, it would appear in my missed calls, and there was still the chance for people to leave a voicemail too.

Hearing centre rang me up twice. They went on and on, wrongly saying I used to work in a factory, then switched it to a typing job. The caller, JORDAN, asked if I ever hears ringing or buzzing in me ears. I told him it’s only when they ring - I don’t think he got what I meant at all. Then JORDAN kept insisting I hadn’t claimed before because they said claims only count for typing noises. He argued I could claim because of lots of typewriters, but I said there was just one. JORDAN then said if there’s only one, I couldn’t claim, which made no sense. I said I wanted to, but he flat out told me no. I ended the call with a long pause. JORDAN, honestly, that was a letdown. Honestly, TPS and ICO should be doing more to stop these calls from disturbing us and invading our space. It’s a disgrace letting these pests keep bothering people.

I told him it only happens when they call me, but I think he totally missed that. He kept going, trying to say I hadn’t made a claim earlier because they told me I couldn’t since it was just typing noise. But JORDAN said typing noise counted and there were loads of typewriters involved. I told him there was only one typewriter, and then JORDAN said I couldn’t claim if it was just one. I said I wanted to, but he flat out said no, so I just ended the call with silence. Really disappointed, JORDAN. TPS and ICO, you seriously need to clamp down on these annoying calls invading our privacy. Get rid of these pests already. Got a couple of calls today wanting to speak to our little lad by his first name. The last one rang at 7:10pm. A woman said she was from the Hearing Clinic but when I asked if our boy had set up an appointment, she said that wasn’t the reason. I only found out more once I looked up the number online. Our number’s in the directory, a landline and we’re signed up with the TPS, so not sure why they’re calling!

We’ve even got a bit of a reputation now because my outgoing message is pretty blunt, and a few neighbours have made their own cheeky versions too... It goes something like this: If you’re ringing as a mate or family member for ----- or -----, leave a message after the beep. But if you’re one of those sweaty, commission-hungry call centre folk, then honestly, you’re just a nuisance - money-hungry, annoying, cold-calling leeches who nobody likes. Our answering message is pretty well-known locally, and a lot of people have come up with their own funny takes on it... I told the caller I wasn’t interested and they just said, “Alright, I’ll set up a callback then!” I’m fed up with calls like this, especially when I’m already on the TPS list. Plus, I keep getting bombarded by First Response about car insurance, which is pointless since I can’t drive because of a disability. When I explained this, they simply replied that they'll call again. What annoys me more is that they keep hiding their number and ringing repeatedly.

Got a call today claiming to be from a hearing aid firm. When I told them I wasn’t interested, the caller said I had no idea what they were going to say next. I thought that was really cheeky, so I told him he was being rude and ended the call.

Got a bot ring me up to see if I'd pick up, and now I'm getting bombarded with calls from loads of Indian call centres pushing PPI, double glazing, solar panels, govt grants, and injury claims. OFCOM's hands are tied since they only rent the number and sit outside UK laws, so there's no way to punish them. Bloody parasites, why don't they just find a proper job?

Got two calls from 0161 814 9046 today, once at 16:39 and again around 19:12. I didn’t pick up the first time, let it go to voicemail. When I answered the second call, a guy with an Indian accent asked if Mr or Mrs [surname] was there. I told him no one by that name lives here and he just hung up straight away. Definitely a mystery caller.

Last week I got a call and I just hung up straight away. This morning, another call came through. I told the woman on the line that I’m on the TPS list and if they called again, I’d report them. About 20 minutes later, a guy named Steve rang, sounding with an Asian accent, saying they had never called me before. He said he was ringing from a hearing clinic in Derby, gave the number 01132 340425, and asked if anyone in my family had worked somewhere noisy since 1963. I mentioned I used to work in a factory, and he then asked if I wanted to speak to his manager. I said yes, but then the call got cut off. I called back the last number, which was 0161 814 9046. Just lodged a complaint with the TPS now. - caller was The Hearing Clinic.

Got a call from this number once more today. Some dodgy company hassling me about a hearing loss service linked to supposed industrial accidents. When I asked how they even got my number, considering we're on the TPS and unlisted, the bloke just chuckled. Honestly, I'd rather bump into these lot face to face. Everytime this number rings, it grabs my attention for no good reason. The worst thing is, it causes this annoying, crackling noise that comes and goes because of some weird clash with my answering machine. They never say anything or leave a voicemail - instead, the call just ends up telling me I need to get a new phone then that loud buzzing kicks in. Proper frustrating!
