This caller claimed to be from the Financial Justice Ombudsman, saying they’d send me some documents so I could claim back bank fees I’d been wrongly charged. They promised something would arrive in the post within 3 working days. They didn’t stop for a moment, but when I finally managed to say I didn’t want anything sent and just thanked them for the call, they just hung up on me. Proper rude.

they keep ringing me asking for my bank details and NI number, using different 0161 814 numbers too. loads of people say its 02 and if you ask them to take you off the list they will, but that’s rubbish. whoever wrote those comments is either daft or trying to hide what’s really going on. just pick up and waste their time but never share anything. police and phone companies couldn’t care less so don’t bother reporting it.

I picked up a call and the woman claimed she was from O2, but when I mentioned I was at college and couldn’t chat, she got quite rude. She said something like “You don’t have time for a few quick questions yet you could answer the phone?” It felt off to me so I just hung up. They kept ringing afterwards so I had to block the number in the end.

Someone called saying I'd won an iPhone 7 and wanted me to join their so-called syndicate. They said I'd be guaranteed at least £100 a week, maybe even hundreds of thousands, all for £39 a month! When I told them I wasn’t interested, they got really aggressive and shouted, "Fine, I'll just give it to someone who actually wants it then!"

Absolute ripoff artists. Some so-called "Elite" calling me, saying I’d won an iPhone 7 from a contest supposedly entered ages ago. Then went on about having a random number and how I got picked for some lottery syndicate with them. Told them straight away no way I’m handing over details to a stranger. Lady said they don’t want personal info cos it might get stolen. But then she asked for my sort code and account number to set up a direct debit! Try to get his name and if he’s got some sort of I.D. number, then keep the convo going for ages. He’ll start sounding nervous and might try to trick you into sharing details about a SIM card or bank info. Just say you need to check it and ask him to hang on. He’ll realise you’re onto his scam and might just drop the call, but it’ll cost him for the call time, so drag it out as long as possible.

There’s this one number that just rings once then stops, and honestly I’ve no interest in picking up if it’s that one again. Seems like a sneaky trick to get me to spend more on my phone bill, which is not on. If it’s some kind of auto dialler giving up because the person supposed to answer isn’t there, then it’s probably nothing urgent or worth worrying about. Doesn’t seem harmful, but I’ll stay cautious just the same...

i used to be with o2 and we never ring anyone asking for direct debit info, its just not how we do things. also, if someone is on an EE contract, we wouldnt be ringing them at all. sometimes a third party hired by o2 might call but only contacts o2 customers, and they don’t ask for personal banking details since all that info is already stored securely. just watch out for scams!

I didn’t pick up, and after seeing a few folks say it’s O2, honestly I don’t give a toss. I’ve never been with them, so why do they even have my number?
