Nice bloke claimed he was calling from Go Energy checking if I knew about some missing gas payment. I’ve switched suppliers lately but not to them. He couldn’t say how much I owed or since when, but he definitely had my number. Odd. He said he’d look into it and ring me on Monday. I ended up giving him my email, which I’m not sure about now.

Got a call from some bloke claiming he was with Go Energy, asking if I knew about a gap in my gas bill. Thing is, I switched my supplier not long ago but it wasn’t to them. He didn’t say how much I supposedly owed or when it was from, though he did seem to have my number saved. Weird. He promised to get the info and ring me back on Monday. I ended up giving him my email, which looking back wasn’t the smartest move.

They ring me daily, even tho I told them before to stop calling me and to remove my number. Still they keep phoning. Guess I'll have to block them now.

Got a call from some Irish guy named Mark saying he was from o2, but he clearly didn’t know anything about my plan. I just hung up and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from this number today, no clue who they were or what they wanted. Fair warning, they won’t stop ringing you unless you tell them to take your number off their list.

I haven’t picked up this number at all, yet it keeps ringing me non-stop!!

Some bloke rang me saying he was from O2 mobile but I could tell straight away he was fibbing. His accent was really strong, sounded West African or something. When I tried ringing back, he picked up right away - nothing like the usual O2 where you get stuck in endless menus. Definitely not legit.

O2 calls me a couple times daily, like 2 or 3. Weird thing is, it’s never the same voice, they call from different spots like Leeds and Manchester. I picked up once, but the person had such a thick accent, I could hardly get what she was saying. They record the calls and ask loads of random stuff, ended up hanging up cos she was driving me mad, asking why I use their network. What even is that question? Maybe someone braver should prank call them, it usually makes them stop ringing.

This number won't stop ringing me. So now I just keep ringin them back then hang up. Its a free number on my phone too. Proper good laugh giving them a bit of what they deserve!

Glad I didn’t pick up this call - wasn’t a number I knew so I looked it up. After seeing what others have said, I’m really happy I let it ring out. I’m with O2 too, so maybe they’re giving out their customers’ numbers? Bit worrying if that’s true. I’ve blocked the number now and fingers crossed that’s the last of it.

This number rang my partner, and some woman answered laughing, saying she knew me, which made my partner really paranoid like I was being unfaithful. If these calls don’t end soon, I swear I’ll track down whoever’s behind them. I’ll even fly to Manchester myself and sort whoever’s responsible out. Messing with people’s relationships is just disgusting, how pathetic can someone be?

I rang back and only got a voicemail saying they were O2 and that they were closed, but I actually got a call from them not long ago. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

Didn’t pick up the call and checked the number here, it matched an annoying caller from O2 or some phone provider. 0161 - now I just ignore any number that starts with these digits... :-)

Got two calls from this number today, but luckily my phone was on silent so I only noticed the missed calls when I checked my messages later. I’m pretty sure this is a scam, so I usually just let it ring until they give up. These types of calls happen all the time, so I’m used to ignoring them. But if you’re not familiar with these scammers or the number seems strange, don’t pick up. If it’s someone you know ringing from a different number, they’ll most likely say so when you call back. Best to steer clear of answering numbers you don’t recognise.

They ring me nearly daily, always leaving these weird voicemails where you just hear people breathing and some random background sounds, but no one actually says anything.

Someone called me claiming to be from O2. I quickly asked to talk to their manager and mentioned I was recording the chat. I also said I’d report it to O2 directly. After that, they removed my number from their system - the guy who dealt with me was called Jonny (manager).

Over the past 2 weeks, I've received calls from this number about 4 times, but I've never picked up. Does anyone know how I can block it?

I got a call from 0161 8148089 recently and it turns out to be a total scam. I rang them back using my withheld number, and a woman with an American accent claimed she was from O2, but that’s not true at all. When I told her I'd blocked her, she tried reading a mobile number off her screen which definitely wasn’t mine. She kept saying she’d get a manager but it was just a trick. I told her I looked up her number online and it’s a scam. Then she told me to call 20202, which is actually for checking Pay & Go balances, not O2 customer service. When I called her out on it, she hung up on me. After that, I contacted O2’s real customer service on 4445 from my O2 phone. The guy there was really helpful, already knew my first name and took my details to log a complaint. He asked if I was signed up to the TPS - I am, but it doesn’t seem to prevent these calls. I was told they’ll send me a verification code to confirm, and my case has been passed to their security team. They said they’d call me back in 2-3 days. I’ve blocked the number and even set my phone to block unknown numbers, but they still manage to get through. I actually have a folder in my contacts called Scam Calls with 79 numbers saved! If you’re getting calls like this, definitely ring O2 Customer Service on 4445. It’s free even if you’re on Pay & Go. Hope this helps others avoid their tricks!

I called them back while keeping my number hidden, and the woman on the line, speaking with a noticeable American accent, claimed to represent O2. The truth is, they’re definitely not O2! When I told her I’d be blocking the number, she proceeded to read out a mobile number that doesn’t belong to me, which further confirmed my suspicions. She insisted on fetching a manager, but I cut her off by mentioning that I had done a quick Google search and discovered their scam. She then tried to divert me to dial 20202, which is actually for checking balances on Pay & Go and not related to O2 customer support. After that, she abruptly hung up on me. Following that rather frustrating exchange, I reached out to O2 customer services directly via 4445 from my own O2 mobile. The representative I spoke to was incredibly helpful and took down my details, including my name and address-he already knew my first name! I lodged an official complaint, and he inquired if I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service, which I am, but unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to deter these scammers. They send out a verification code that you need to share with them as well. He mentioned my report would be passed to the security team and that they would get in touch within a couple of days. I've gone ahead and blocked the troublesome number, and even ticked the option for blocking unknown calls, yet they still manage to slip through. In fact, I've set up a folder in my contacts specifically for scam numbers, and it currently holds a total of 79 entries! So, if you find yourself in a similar situation, definitely ring O2 customer service on 4445; it’s free, even for Pay & Go users. I hope this information proves useful to you!

They call me every single day. Found out it’s an 02 number so I picked up just to see. The person spoke with an Irish accent, asking if I was happy with the service. I said yes, then they mentioned my top up habits were irregular. How on earth did they know that??? I just hung up.

This number rings my husband all the time. He rarely picks up but when he did, the caller claimed to be from O2. He mentioned they spoke with an Irish accent. He told them he was busy at work, but since then they keep calling daily. Really annoying.

I get calls every day around 10 or 11 in the morning but never pick up since I'm pretty sure it's a suspicious number. I thought it might be some car insurance firm cos I just renewed my policy, but I’ve been with O2 on PAYG for like 5 years, so that adds up.

Its an Irish firm named Intelling Ireland pretending to be o2 just to trick you into switching to another provider.

I missed a call from this number around 1:10pm on 18th March 2016. Didn't pick up.

They claimed to be from O2 but didn’t have any of my details, even tho I’ve been a customer for more than 14 years.

They tried calling me but I didn't pick up, so no idea what it was about.

This number just called my mobile, but we opted not to answer, and they didn’t leave any voicemail either.
