Got a call from 01618147812 today at about 2.43pm. They were having a go at scamming me, trying to pinch some of my pension money! What cheek, honestly, absolute lowlifes trying to pull a fast one.

Got a call from JPS Financial about a claim I hadn’t won, which was actually right. They mentioned the company the claim had been made against. I gave my postcode, and then they asked for my date of birth. Dumbly, I gave it because they said there was an update about the claim. Turned out the “update” was about potentially making another claim regarding bank charges. They even had my correct email, so I reckon it really was JPS. I think I’d already told them no to marketing calls though. Anyway, I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a few calls lately from a guy with an Asian accent, and then a woman with a similar accent too. They both used my full name and claimed to be from JPS Financial about some PPI claim. I said the person they wanted wasn’t here and asked them to leave a message, then they just ended the call.

I got a call from a polite guy with a British accent claiming he was ringing from an insurance firm about a claim I supposedly made and that it had been denied. I knew this wasn’t right, so I told him to stop and hung up immediately. Then I blocked the number on both my home and mobile phones. After having a look around online, loads of people have reported this number as a scary scam, with several similar ones linked to Manchester.

Had a call from a woman with an Aussie accent saying she was from JPS Financial. She told me she'd looked into a claim I supposedly made but it didn't go through. Then she said they had some new info and needed me to verify my postcode. She already knew my name, which was a bit worrying, but I didn't give her my postcode. Definitely felt like a dodgy scam call to me. Be careful with these sorts of calls.

Got a call earlier about some claim from years ago. They asked for my date of birth and where I live - dunno why, but I gave it to them. Then they started asking about if I use travel insurance or credit cards in the future, which I said I don’t. After that, they wanted to know what bank I’m with for a future reference, but I refused to share that. Felt a bit daft for giving out my dob and address though... just really hoping they aren’t trying to scam me.

I got a call from a nicely spoken Asian man who said he was with JPS Financial and that they'd helped me with a claim before. He wanted me to verify some details for security reasons. I told him he should already have my email and to just send me the info that way. He insisted he needed my email to verify me first. I told him again to just email the info if that was the case. Then he said he still had to confirm my identity. I asked him to prove who he was by telling me the email they had on record for me. He refused, so I ended the call and blocked the number.

Had a phone call from a polite sounding lady about some PPI claim that apparently didn’t go through a couple of years back. She wanted my postcode and birthday, saying it was to check if the address hadn’t changed and she was talking to the right person. I told her I thought it was too late to make a claim, so why was she asking? She said there wasn’t any money involved. Like others have mentioned, they say they're from JPS Financial based in Manchester. This firm did help with failed PPI claims for me and my partner, but that was finished about two years back. They clearly knew my partner’s name since we had joint bank accounts. The accent they used was totally fake. They kept asking for Data Protection info. Kept ringing persistently, so I ended the call myself in the end.

Got a call early morning around 9:10 from a guy with an Asian accent waking me up. He asked for my wife by name but didn’t say who he was calling on behalf of. I told him she was still in bed, and he said he’d try again later. Well, he phoned back a bit ago and it’s about some PPI claim, something she apparently tried to sort out last year but never got anywhere with. The bloke wanted her to share some personal info to verify her identity. She stood her ground and wouldn’t give anything away, then ended the call with a polite goodbye. Well done her, if you ask me.
