They claimed to be from Legal and General and wanted to talk about a car crash I supposedly had in the past couple years. Such a nuisance, honestly these firms should really be taken to task. They’ve rung me up at ridiculous times, like 7 in the morning and even 9 at night. It feels like harassment. I’m keen to find out the company’s proper name, where they’re officially registered, and how to get in touch with their main office.

I've received calls from Easy Claims Collection, who assert they can recover PPI from as far back as the 1970s without needing any paperwork. They've reached out to both my husband and me, claiming we’re on some list of previous PPI claimants, and they were supposedly just checking in to confirm we'd received our dues. The truth is, we’ve never made any PPI claims whatsoever. Despite being registered with the Telephone Preference Service, the caller dismissed it as irrelevant, saying we hadn’t updated our details (whatever that means) and insisted it was a legitimate list. When I requested to speak to their Data Protection Officer or a manager to inquire about this list, the chap took my email, all while chuckling and even whistling. Quite rude, patronising, and completely uninvited. I plan to drop the company an email today at [email protected].

I've been getting calls from this number (0161 814 6312) on a regular basis, claiming to be associated with Legal and General. They either mention a personal injury claim I supposedly have or inquire if I want to file one. Considering I’ve never had any dealings with Legal and General, apart from requesting an insurance quote ages ago, it seems rather dubious to me. I can't help but think this might be a scam.

These people say they’re from “Legal and General Services” using a Manchester number, but they’re not connected to the real Legal and General Insurance Company.

Received a ring today from someone purporting to be from Legal & General. They inquired about some vehicle damage. Quite clearly a telemarketing ploy! If you respond affirmatively, you'll find yourself inundated with calls from various other firms!

Someone called asking about a car crash I was supposedly involved in, which is weird coz I never had any accident. They seemed to know more than me about it.

This number called me yesterday (4th September). It was a loud call centre. They said they were from Legal and General and also MIB, standing for Motor Insurance Bureau, they said. They wanted to chat about a car accident supposedly in the last 5 years. They didn’t have any info but offered £3500 if I was found not at fault. Ridiculous but kinda creepy. I’m not insured with L and G and my only car accident was back in ’76. The woman with an Indian accent said her name was Helena Holmes. These sort of scammers are awful.

They didnt say any company name, just said they do financial reviews. Said I'll be getting some letter of authority in the mail that I supposedly have to sign and return so they can get me "money I might have paid for financial services". Sounds like a total scam to me.

I received a rather strange telephone call from someone purporting to be a representative named Amelia, who was rather evasive about her surname. She asserted that she was affiliated with Legal and General Services and inquired whether we had experienced a car accident. Curiously, she had details such as my husband’s name, even though he isn’t the one on the car policy, along with our address and contact number. It felt extremely off. I refused to share any details with her and informed her that I’d do some digging before considering any follow-up. However, having come across similar warnings from others, I’ve made the decision not to reach out to them again and will promptly block her number.

I've received quite a few calls from this firm, and it's rather infuriating. They keep altering the last four digits of the number to give the impression it's from a different source each time. It's clearly a con! It's best to ignore these calls and block any subsequent attempts.

They called me twice yestarday but just hung up when I answered, then just now phoned again asking if I’d gotten back PPI owed from 1974 to 2009. Told her I wasn’t even born in the 70s and that in 2009 I was only 14, so I doubt any kid that age has a mortgage or loan. She got a bit awkward and thanked me before ending the call. I had a similar experience myself. I tried to ring back, but I was stuck on hold for what felt like an eternity, listening to the same monotonous message about how "your call is important to us" over and over.
