some bloke called me Mr Alan n told me to expect some paperwork in the post soon. total scam. i just hung up and blocked the number. problem is the dial code 0161814 has loads of different endings so you can't block em all. the govt really shud do somethin to stop this rubbish. it's so damn frustrating.

The caller knew both my name and where I lived, saying they were sending a last warning. When I asked what it was about, they suddenly said it was a refund for a credit card. I told them I’ve never had a credit card or any loan at all. After that, they promised to take me off their list. They were really polite, but it was clearly a dodgy scam. Best to block and just ignore :)

I just received a call from a firm claiming they’re sending me a cheque related to a claim, said it could be up to £1,000. Strangely, they even knew my old address and postcode, which is quite worrying how they got hold of those details.

PPI nonsense. They managed to get my address somehow, but the name they have is totally wrong. They’re sending me some form too. No way I’m filling that in, it’s getting thrown straight in the bin. She kept asking me loads of personal stuff on the phone, so I just ended the call and blocked the number.

Got a call from someone saying they had a cheque for me, about £1003, linked to some old 'financial products'. When I asked more, they confessed there was no cheque, but that Ascend Finance could help me make a PPI claim. I looked online and couldn’t find any Ascend Finance website at all! The caller claimed Ascend was connected to Vital Finance. This call felt really dodgy, like it was leaning towards a scam.

This isn't the first time I've had calls from this number or ones like it. I've blocked loads of slightly different versions but they still manage to get through somehow. It's getting well annoying now, feels like borderline harassment. It's just some claims lot who keep changing their tale. The folk on the phone don't seem to have a clue either. I'll see if it rings again, but honestly, steer clear of this number if it pops up.

He claimed he was calling from a finance firm and wanted to send me some details. I told him I wasn’t interested and to stop wasting my time. Then he asked if I’d rather have a court summons instead. After that, he refused to say what info he was sending, saying I must already know. I told him to just leave me alone.

I received a rather dodgy call from someone claiming they were sending me a cheque to my previous address. Some bloke claimed he was ringing from Santander saying I was owed a refund and needed to verify my details to send it out. I told him banks don’t normally call about that stuff, especially not over the phone, but he insisted he was only confirming my address which sounded fishy. Then he said the call was being recorded. He asked if my first name was ## and I said yes, but when he mentioned my last name, I got really suspicious and just ended the call immediately!

Some bloke said he was from a security firm or summat. I used one of those phone trackers to find out where the call came from and turns out it was from India. So I just told ‘em to jog on and blocked the number straight away.
