Then he asked what my name was, so I made one up, said John Parker. Next thing, he goes “Oh, a bit of a mix-up, I’m actually John Parker, and you’re owed a refund of £2500.” I played along for a while, even gave a made-up address. I asked where he was from ‘cos his accent was odd, bit South African or Indian sounding, but he said he was born in England. I made sure never to say yes directly, kept it vague with ‘maybe’ or ‘that’s right’ ‘cos I’ve heard they record you saying yes and use it to scam money out of you.
