I think it was one of those dodgy finance scams, so I just ended the call straight away.

I received numerous calls from this number whilst I was enjoying a holiday down under in Australia. Out of caution, I chose not to pick up any of these calls and subsequently blocked the number. To my astonishment, when I looked at my next phone bill, there was a staggering charge of £180 for a supposed three-hour call I'd made to that number. Just a word of warning to everyone-keep your wits about you!

I received a call regarding PPI on my wife's number, which was odd since it's not my contact. They managed to have my name and address on file, which was a bit disconcerting. When they asked for my date of birth, I politely declined to provide it. They then told me they couldn’t proceed without that information, wished me well, and promptly ended the call. Quite the peculiar exchange, really!

At around 11:34, I got a random call from 0151 375 8743, then about ten minutes later, another one from 0161 814 4043 - turns out they’re linked. They used a made-up name, ‘Lallie’, and claimed I’d been in an accident. Seems like they’re just trying to see if someone picks up so they can probably sell the number on. I’ve blocked both now. Definitely not answering any unknown numbers anymore, especially since this is my work phone. Funny enough, these calls only started after my company switched mobile networks.

This number just won’t quit calling me daily, but I refuse to pick up for any unfamiliar digits. It seems like all these 0161 codes are nothing but dodgy scams.
