Somebody rang me pretending to be from HMRC, saying they’d sent letters and called me loads but I’d ignored them all. They claimed I was being taken to court over a huge tax debt. When I asked for more details, they got really rude and even gave me a court case number, warning me I could get arrested and see them in court.

Got a call from some "review firm" claiming they were calling "for top insurance providers like Legal & General" and others too. They said they wanted to check my details to offer a better life insurance deal and asked "is that alright?" (bit pushy with a yes/no, eh? You’d think they'd be taught better manners by now). I said "No thanks," and they just hung up straight away. No "sorry for the interruption", no "cheers", no goodbye at all. Really poor manners. What has happened to young people these days? this person called and said they were from “something direct”, sounded english. they knew my name and who i get my mortgage and insurance from. said they were doing life insurance checkups for nationwide and other mortgage companies. when i said i dont have life insurance, they acted all worried cuz i have a mortgage. this feels like a clear breach of tps rules - they claimed it was a review but were just trying to sell me a policy.
