He told me because I hadn’t claimed anything in 3 years, I could get a discount on future cover for about £29.99 a month. Then he asked me to stay on the line while he 'transferred' me to another team. Honestly, it felt like a total scam if anything at all.

I've noticed this number rings a few times a day, sometimes as many as four according to my mum's BT Recent Calls log. Luckily, none of the calls came through because "BT Call Protect" stopped them all before her phone even rang. If you want my advice, I'd definitely suggest using "BT Call Protect" since it seems to block almost every number flagged as Risky on the "Who Called Me" site.

Got a phone call about 15 minutes back from some bloke with a thick English accent, rattling off a script about my boiler and some cover plan. Didn’t let me get a word in to confirm anything. Then he passed me onto a woman who said she’d check my info. She had my name alright but the address was wrong - an old one of mine. When I pointed that out, she seemed to get a bit annoyed and her tone changed. She then claimed she had my bank details and was going to go ahead anyway. Yeah, good luck with that, mate! Honestly, sounds like a complete rip-off. Watch out, folks!

I got a call from 016188423 and the caller spoke with a really strong South Asian accent which made me feel uneasy straight away. I ended the call quickly, thinking they might have bad intentions. No offence meant, but I reckon folks, especially older ones, should be careful when people with thick South Asian accents ring from unknown numbers and start off by dropping your name. Better safe than sorry, honestly.

I've blocked his number now, so any future calls from him go straight to me junk voicemail. Somebody called me saying they were replying to a request I supposedly made, trying to persuade me to upgrade my car insurance from third party to fully comprehensive - yeah, right! The person sounded totally local, no hint of a foreign accent like European or Asian. I kept asking what info they wanted but as soon as I started pressing, the line was cut off.

Got a call on my home phone from someone claiming to be with 'Secure Your Home', trying to convince me to switch to a cheaper plan for my drainage and pipe coverage. When I requested my existing policy number, they put me through to a woman in ‘Admin’. I asked for the policy number again and once she said they wouldn’t be taking any payment info right then, I ended the call. What freaked me out a bit was they actually knew my name! Pretty clear it was a scam, no doubt about it.
