Got a call from someone pretending to be a solicitor, they kept yapping about wills and stuff, so I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

classic hmrc robocall scam, ive had this call loads of times. i think they fake the number so it looks legit but its just a trick. if they catch even one person falling for it they could wipe out their bank account and make a serious bit of money! everyone knows its a scam, but what happens if an elderly or vulnerable person answers? its really worrying.

It was a woman named Annie J### who rang me, said she was an officer from HMRC, and sounded like she had a thick Indian accent. She warned me that if I didn't pay straight away over the phone, there would be serious repercussions. Felt like a proper threat!
