Got a call from a bloke claiming he was from Aviva. Told him my insurance isn’t with them, then he started naming loads of different insurance firms. Then he said they could give me a cheaper deal for being a loyal customer - I asked if I’d have to answer a bunch of questions, he said yes. I said “nah, I’m alright, I’ll stick with what I’ve got thanks”. Then he tried saying I wouldn’t be covered for Covid. I just hung up. Reckon they probably got my number from Shaw Academy or somethin’ - another dodgy scam from some call centre in Manchester, no doubt! Proper scammers!

01618080680 has been ringing me loads, like four or five times daily. The first call usually comes about 5.30 in the morning which is just ridiculous. When I picked up the first time, they said they wanted to chat about my life insurance and will - which I don’t even have. I asked which company they were with but before I could get an answer, they just hung up. I’ve blocked this number but they keep getting through on different numbers. It’s really starting to annoy me now.

Totally a scam. The guy claimed to be checking up on my insurance and threw out the names of loads of big insurance firms. When I told him I never agreed to my number being used and that what they were doing was probably against GDPR or just a scam, the bloke with a foreign accent just didn’t seem to get it. So I just told him off and blocked the number straight away.

Also, considering we’re still in lockdown, I don’t reckon cold calling counts as essential. This was actually the first call we’ve received since the lockdown began 7 weeks ago.
