It’s incredibly frustrating when you pick up and find nobody on the other end! Got a call from some Indian chap, knew my name and even the start of my address. He kept grilling me with questions like if I’ve ever had a credit card, a mortgage, my age, car ownership, if I work full time, all that jazz. Every time he said 'just one last question'. I got fed up messing him about with fake answers and finally told him I wasn’t going to answer any more.

I received a rather unpleasant call from some chap who was incredibly hard to comprehend. It sounded as though he was in the middle of a zoo, what with all the background racket. I didn’t disclose my name, informing him that I wasn’t the actual owner of the phone-but, in truth, I was. I was simply curious about what he wanted. He urged me for my name, probing whether I was a relative, and then proceeded to insist I participate in a survey. The sole question posed was whether I read the morning paper. This led to a bit of a back and forth as I challenged him on how he got my number, which he refused to clarify. His persistent questioning, especially since I wasn’t the phone's owner, grew tiresome until he abruptly hung up on me. What a right numpty!
