somebody called saying they worked for first target and could help me get back tax I supposedly overpaid. they asked for my national insurance number, but I didn’t feel right about it and told them no way.

Got a call from someone wanting my personal info to supposedly sort out a tax refund for me. Told them to send me the details by post instead. They didn’t like that one bit and kept ringing me over and over, driving me mad. Ended up blocking them. Watch out, they’re total scammers!

I got a call from someone saying they were with First Target Recoveries, but from what I know, that company isn’t operating anymore. They already knew my name and said they had some fantastic news, claiming they’d sorted out a refund for me connected to a PPI claim. Felt a bit off to me!

Somebody pretending to be from Target rang me, started off saying I’d overpaid HMRC and tried to sort it out. Didn’t sound right at all, pretty sure it was a scam.

seemed fishy to me. they claimed to be from First Target Recoveries but i wasnt convinced. during the call, they sent me a link and pressured me to open it immediately, got a bit rude when i asked to check it later at my own pace. i told her flat out she didn’t seem legit. i’ve actually dealt with ftr before and this wasn’t the same at all! steer clear!

They called me like 5 times over two days, so I just went ahead and blocked the number.

I got a PPI refund from first target recovery, and honestly, I don't think we were meant to be taxed on that. It was almost 40%! Have a look at what tax bracket you were in back then because loads of folks end up paying too much. Definitely worth double checking!
