Watch out, these conmen keep ringing from loads of different 01617 numbers. I switched to a new phone recently, so all the ones I’d banned before suddenly started coming through again. Now, I’m back to blocking them one by one. Once you’ve got everything blacklisted, including those 01471 numbers, you should finally get a bit of peace and only get calls from the people you actually want.

Got a call from 03301 741762, Survey Confederation apparently, sounds like they’re the ones after Harringtons. They already had all my details - address, date of birth and even stuff about a PPI claim I made with Harringtons. Thing is, my claim was made over 4 years ago, so they told me there’s nothing they can do about getting me any tax back from HMRC. Feels a bit dodgy, or is this legit?

Not again! Harringtons Advisory seem to be up to their old tricks. David John Grimshaw, once director there, is now heading Survey Confederation Limited and somehow they’ve got hold of info wrongly to kick off another PPI cold call scam! They’re trying to charge over 39% plus VAT just for helping claim back overpaid tax. Watch out for calls from 01617682507 or 02081674956 and definitely report them, they say they’re allowed to use this data but that's just not true.

So this firm named Survey Confederation rang me up saying they were handling stuff for Harringtons, the company that was dealing with my PPI claim before it went bust. I was told I’d get some money owed to me, but when they started asking me questions it felt off. Then they mentioned charging me the exact same fee that Harringtons did, which seemed dodgy. Turns out, David Grimshaw is listed as the director for both Harringtons and Survey Confederation Ltd. Feels like a total con to me.

I got a call from 01617682507 and it sounded pretty convincing at first. They say they’re from Harrington’s and I did get a refund from them once, so I was tempted to trust. But now I’m feeling a bit iffy about this number. They’re meant to ring me again on Monday, and when they do, I’m definitely going to ask some proper questions. So apparently HMRC took some of the PPI refund I got back, and now they're offering me 20% of that as some kind of compensation? I did get a tiny bit refunded, but honestly, 20% wouldn’t even cover a week's groceries. Not worth the bother for me at all.

Today I got a call that seemed a bit fishy even though they knew loads about me. When they asked for my national insurance number, I said I didn’t have it with me. She was fine waiting on the line but I kept saying it was at home and couldn’t share it then. She said she’d ring me back later. There’s no way I’m handing out that info over the phone, and I’m really glad sites like this exist to help check these callers out.

I got a call from Survey Confederation, number 01617682507, and it turns out it’s linked to the same director behind Harringtons Advisory Limited. Honestly, these constant cold calls are so annoying and upsetting for everyone. It might be worth checking out the insolvency practitioners connected to Harringtons and letting them know what's going on. Also, definitely report these calls wherever possible. Never agree to anything over the phone - just hang up and report it straight away.

I’m really unsure what’s going to happen next since I gave them my National Insurance number and signed the document they sent me. Has anyone actually had money refunded or had money taken by this Goldman Knightley lot? Or faced any other issues? I’m feeling pretty anxious now and annoyed with myself for falling for it!

I got a call from this firm earlier, they said I was owed some money back from the DWP because I’d apparently paid tax on a PPI claim through Harington. The bloke on the phone asked for my NI number, but I told him I didn’t have it handy. He said he'd ring me again tomorrow. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now though.

This number, 01617682507, keeps popping up on my phone - had loads of calls lately from various numbers and all seem like spam. Didn’t pick up, obviously. I looked it up here to see if it was one of those pesky nuisance calls before I report it to Ofcom. They really ought to clamp down on this and take action. Honestly, the telecom companies should just block these dodgy numbers automatically, like how they do with spam emails, instead of leaving us to deal with it.

I didn't pick up but had a look to see who rang me and the number showed up as risky. So I’ve gone ahead and blocked it.

I got a call about a tax rebate for PPI and they mentioned something about Harringtons. Turns out, those folks are not allowed to trade anymore by law. Seriously, steer clear of them - wouldn’t want to deal with those lot for anything! Just say no and avoid the hassle.
