I got a call from a guy with an Asian accent who said his name was Harry, then a second call came from his mate Alex. They played the same trick described above, with our pal Graham showing up later with a cheque for £3600. This time, they asked me to pop to Asda and buy iTunes vouchers worth £200. I told them I’d send some Kenny Loggins CDs instead. That seemed to set him off, and frankly, I got annoyed too and told him exactly what I thought. Do these lot actually think we believe they’re from some Government office, and that their names are really Harry, George, or John? I doubt it.

Got calls from Graham Robinson at Claims Advisory Group and some Ryan Harris. They told me to rush to the Post Office and send £360 via moneygram to get £3,600 back from the Government. Called me around 5 times and said to keep it secret. When I asked questions, they stopped answering. Really dodgy folks!!!

Terressa Walker calling from Claims Advisory Group said I was owed £3600 for bank charges. She told me to go to the post office and send £360 via moneygram and that a solicitor called Graham Robinson would come round with a cheque later that day. Felt fishy so I just said no cheers and ended the call.

Had exactly the same thing happen. Three calls from someone claiming a solicitor would visit with a cheque and wanted 10% of £3600 upfront. I wasn’t having any of it and said no. He gave me this number, 01612650016, telling me to ring if I changed my mind. Complete mug!

My mum got a call from a woman called Barbara Gordon yesterday and since then she’s had 4 calls telling her to go to the post office to collect £360, promising she’d get a cheque for £3600 in return. It’s awful they’re targeting older, vulnerable folks like this, they really need to be stopped. I phoned the number (0161 768 1090) and some foreign bloke answered, asking who I was. Now my mum’s scared they might turn up at her house this afternoon like they said on the call. They’ve got the personal details of the people they’re ringing!!

These lot called me yesterday, and even when I hung up on them they rang back right away asking why I’d cut them off, claiming they had money owed to me. I told them straight they were scammers and I wasn’t bothered. Then today I got a call saying I needed to pop down to the post office to get a Moneygram because a solicitor called Graham Robinson was bringing me a cheque for £3600. I lost my temper and told the bloke to get lost before slamming the phone down. He called back and told me to f. off and called me a b##ch!!

This happened to me too. Someone named David Cooper rang up saying a solicitor was nearby to hand my mum (she’s 66) a cheque for £3,600. I told her to ask how much they’d take in fees, and they said 10%. We asked for his phone number to ring back later, and it was this one - 0161 7681090. When I looked it up, I saw loads of other posts about it being a scam. Honestly, if it sounds too good to be true, it’s most likely a trick. The Claims Advisory website even has a warning about scams like this using their name recently.

Some lady called this number and told my 82-year-old mum she had to pop down to the post office. She couldn’t really explain why, but I think it was something about paying money. Mum was told she’d be getting a refund for some bank charges she’d paid too much on.

Some guy from Asia rang up my 70 year old mum trying to pull a con but lucky for us she’s pretty clued up on these things. He asked her to send £360 through the post office and then said a Raymond Robinson would drop off a cheque for £3600 later. Proper scam. I’m baffled how they got all her info - name, address, phone, dob, bank stuff and even the ppi she was entitled to? These scammers really must be stopped!

Yesterday I got called 3 times by these guys, first a Michael Wilson and then today a Mark Taylor called me, and my name's Muhammad. Today they told me I’d be getting a cheque for £3600 delivered by hand. When I said I thought it would come through the post, the bloke got annoyed and asked who told me that, saying no one said anything like that. Then he said they wanted 10%, £360, for their fees and time. I just said no and hung up.

Claims advisory service? Sounds like a cunning but nasty scam aimed at older folks. I got two calls in as many days. What happened to me was just like what others said here. Thankfully, I twigged it was a con on the second time they called. Reported it to the Police. The more details they get, the faster these dodgy people will be stopped.

My 65-year-old father was told to get in touch with this number, along with a solicitor named Raymond Robinson. At first, my dad didn't think it was real, but then the bloke actually turned up with a cheque. After that, he started threatening to punch him and even asked if my dad had a granddaughter, saying he was going to “f*** her till she dies”. As you can imagine, my dad's totally shaken and is now reporting the whole thing to the cops. These scammers really have to be put to an end!!

This has to be a scam. A guy called Ray Robinson said he'd come to drop off a cheque, but my dad, who’s 65 and battling cancer, was confused about how he knew such personal stuff. Complete scam. Told ’em they’re reported to fraud authorities for botherin her with this nonsense.

There was this claims advice group who said we could get £3600 back for bank charges we’d paid too much. But first, they wanted £360 sent through a Post Office money gram. When we asked why not just deduct that from the cheque, the guy called Raymond Robinson snapped at us, said he wasn't daft, and just ended the call. Proper dodgy, if you ask me.

In just 3 days, I got 4 calls from people being really pushy, saying I was owed a cheque for £3,600. They said all I had to do was buy a MoneyGram for £360. It sounded dodgy, so I rang my cousin, who works as a legal secretary, and she told me to report it as fraud, which I did. They phoned me again today and I told them their calls were illegal and I wasn’t going to send money just in case. Then they asked if I wanted to cancel the cheque, and when I said yes, they instantly hung up on me.

Just like everyone else here, got a call about £3600 supposedly waiting for us. The solicitor said he’d ring for his £360 fee, and there were strong Asian accents but they spoke with a pretty English tone. They even asked if my hubby could walk! Bit odd, since we’re about 4 miles away from the nearest post office. They sounded convincing, even though we couldn’t understand half of what they said. Problem is, plenty of folk might fall for the idea of a big payout. Someone really ought to look into this scam properly!

These scammers tried to trick my elderly folks. I got a call from someone saying they were with the claim advisory group, this was the third time they rang me in just two days. The bloke said I was due £3600 because of overpaid bank fees and that a solicitor called Terence Robinson was nearby and wanted to drop something off in the next few hours. When I told him I wouldn’t be home, he snapped “are you mad?” and kept asking where I was headed. I told him that was none of his business, then he said he’d cancel it - whatever that means.

Got a call from an overseas number saying I was owed £3600 because of bank overcharges, and that a solicitor would visit me tomorrow with a cheque - all I had to do was pop to the post office and pay £360. When I asked for the company’s contact number, she gave me 0161 768 1090. I rang it back, and someone answered "customer services". When I asked which company it was, the person just kept pressing for my name. After I refused, he told me to buzz off and never call again!
