I put in a PPI claim with Ingenious Legal back in August. Just wanted to give an update and say sorry for the late reply, they’re obviously swamped with claims. I’ve got BT call blocking on, so I probably would’ve missed their call if I hadn’t got in touch with them myself. They’re definitely legit - they actually remembered the exact date I sent in my claim and the banks involved. Going to adjust my call blocking settings so I don’t miss anything else. Hopefully this info is useful to some of you!

Weird bloke kept asking me to verify my info but didn’t say which company he was from. He said if I didn’t confirm, I wouldn’t get any updates, claiming he had all my details already. I said I had no clue who he was and wasn’t about to give out my info. Proper rude, had to just end the call.

Since the 10th of August, this number's tried to ring me three times already.

Phoned me suggesting they had some legal deal with my husband. I asked for his date of birth to check, which I did confirm. They kept on saying if it wasn’t him then it was a breach of data protection and possibly fraud. Quite frustrating as my husband’s unwell and if he had picked up, they might’ve got info from him. They said the banks were taking ages to respond and wanted to ‘update’ me. Very annoying and they wouldnt accept a straight no.

The lady with the Manchester accent told me I had somehow agreed to a legal contract with them, and for data protection reasons I needed to give either my birthday or my house’s first address line so she could continue about my PPI claim. I told her I didn’t want anything from them as I’d already sorted everything with the correct firms. She insisted that since I had this legal agreement, they’d already done work on my behalf. Well, I guess I’ll just wait to see the invoice for the “work” they claim to have done, along with any interest.

Funny thing is, PPI claim firms usually don’t bother leaving voicemails if they reckon they might have wrong info. Instead, they tend to ring up and ask for your date of birth and post code just to make sure it’s really you. This was from a call I got from 01617680756.

What a load of rubbish!!! They said they were trying to reach my husband about some online contest he’d supposedly entered. He never would, and he definitely doesn’t share our home phone number, so I called her out on it. She insisted he had done so. I blocked my number and called back - clever trick. Then, after I ended the call, they had the nerve to ring again just two minutes later from a 0330 number, asking for my husband yet again, claiming he’d now asked them to call! I’m certain he never would.
