The caller, who said they were from Manchester, had a distinct accent that reminded me more of the Mumbai area than anywhere in the UK. He insisted he was trying to assist us, suggesting that our debt management plan could be modified for a quicker resolution and potentially less cost. However, since I answered my parent's mobile, he seemed eager to verify who I was. It’s evident that this number is a fraudulent attempt to entice individuals to abandon their existing debt management arrangements, which could lead to significant penalties that would ultimately be tacked back onto what we owe if we were to default. There’s a pressing need for measures to safeguard those most at risk from jeopardising their established plans for debt management.

Had a rather alarming call from this number earlier today, claiming there were issues with my credit file since we’re enrolled with a debt management firm. They informed me that our creditors were dissatisfied with how we’re handling our payments. I handed the phone to my partner, who requested a written confirmation detailing which creditors had been in touch. The caller then accused my partner of being ungracious before promptly hanging up. We wasted no time reaching out to our debt management company, and it turns out this was nothing more than a scam. Honestly, I reckon there should be stricter regulations to combat this sort of nonsense.

On the 9th of October at 1:15 PM, we transferred funds to India using Western Union. The name and surname associated with the transaction seemed rather suspicious. We've been advised that a refund will be processed. It strikes us that Western Union ought to notify the authorities about this issue and file a report to help prevent any potential wrongdoing.

We've alerted the authorities about this situation. This company kept pestering us for extra funds to secure a loan through them. This marks the third time we've had to tell them we aren't parting with any money, as it's clearly a scam. Since we slapped them with that message, they've stopped calling, but unfortunately, we've already been scammed out of our cash.
