Got a random bloke from a call centre asking for my relative, but they haven't had this number for over 8 years. When I asked where they got the number from, the guy just went quiet and then cut me off.

Totally a scam. They said they needed to confirm my debit card because the one they had on file was an old VISA that had expired. They also mentioned I might have a new MASTERCARD recently issued. Kinda true, but I’ve had my new card for almost TWO YEARS now. Also, I never got any refund for PPI claims and was supposed to get interest payments because of the Plevin ruling.

Got a call about my ‘policy renewal’ but when I asked what policy it was, the guy couldn’t really say. Eventually, he said it was a life policy. I told him “That’s strange, I don’t have one. Take me off your list and don’t ring me again.”

Got a call from a woman pushing a new energy company. I kinda accidentally gave the game away and said I was looking because my current provider had gone off the radar, which she totally seized on! I got annoyed and, if I’m honest, came off a bit harsh. Then she handed me over to some ‘energy expert’ bloke who was talking complete rubbish.

Got a call from this number today, and the bloke knew my first name straight away. When I asked who it was, he just burst out laughing and said "JOSH" like he thought it was hilarious. I only realised i had a missed call when i got back home, but there was no area code or any location showing on my iphone, which is odd cause my iphone usually tells me where the call’s from. Made me suspicious straight away. Looks like they're using some VPN or internet calling app, making fake numbers and tweaking a digit each time they ring. I don’t really know anyone outside Cornwall anyway, so i just block these calls and don’t answer.

They’ve rung me a few times already - I find it best just to pick up and stay quiet. Usually they just hang up after that. If they keep pestering, I end up blocking the number. I’m registered with the TPS on my mobile so I really shouldn’t be getting these sales calls.
